"Springbok coach Allister Coetzee is being linked with the head coaching position of Japanese club Canon Eagles.

It appears that Coetzee’s tenure as Springbok coach will end after the team’s current European tour, irrespective what happens in Saturday’s final Test against Wales.
Afrikaans newspaper Rapport earlier reported that Coetzee would not survive when his contract is renewed in December.
The performance clause in Coetzee’s contract states that he needs to maintain a 65% win-ratio and failure to do so will allow SA Rugby to relieve him of his duties without a so-called “golden handshake”.
Under Coetzee’s tutelage, the Boks have won 11 of 24 Tests - a 46% win-ratio - and a victory in Cardiff on Saturday will push that percentage up to only 48%.
According to the latest issue of Rapport, Coetzee will likely become the new head coach of the Canon Eagles if he loses his job as Springbok coach.
His assistant at the Boks, Matt Proudfoot, may join him there, the Afrikaans Sunday newspaper reported.
Coetzee and Proudfoot earlier coached at the Kobelco Steelers in Japan before the former became Springbok coach in 2016.
They also worked together while Coetzee was head coach of the Stormers.
It is believed that the record 38-3 defeat to Ireland earlier this month was the final blow to Coetzee’s hopes of staying in charge of the national team.
During Coetzee's tenure, the Boks made history for the wrong reasons.
