After the Irish Series Combrink was looking solid, He was one of the subs that came on turning round the second Irish test scoring a late try. But then he was injured and missed much of the RC. Returning on the YE tour there wasn't much to write home about. ......... He actually lost the ball twice as many times as he beat defenders. A butterfingered 8 turnovers in 3 games, with only 4 defenders beaten. But. It was his pace that was concerning at times....he looked soooo slow going back against the Poms. ............ To me it's hardly worth investing in this journeyman type who will be 27 before he plays his next test. We have relied on dangerous wings to punctuate our turnover ball attack, going back to Paulse and Terblanche. Combrinck looks pretty toothless. Time to get Senatla back into the 15 man code.

He is a placeholder, nothing less and nothing more. I was the first to identify his lack of pace. At best he is a fullback- where he can use his long touching finding boot, and running skills. He does not have the speed to finish in the corner by outstripping the cover defence.

The man had a broken leg and was off for months and then had a shoulder problem too.   Only Mozart will judge him as being too slow - he really is clueless.

Then don't comment Chip-ou. No need to be sorry though you are entitled to your opinion...as I am to mine.

Combrinck had injury problems which affected his performance.  Yet he was much better than Mozart's favourites Pietersen and Habana.   That shows a good sign for the future and we will see how he performs in Super Rugby.
The site clown has never been accurate on any performance evaluation - so why should he be in this case?
