South Africa's Translators' Institute said they already had reservations about the interpreter.

"I'm afraid this thing has left the whole of South Africa with egg on its face."

Yeah well. This is the ANC that the whole world wanted in power in SA for many years. This is the tip of the iceberg as far as what is really going on...........

Exactly my sentiments. This is typical ANC administration. Many people in the most important positions in South Africa are like this translator.
SARU is just another example of the poor management that we have now have to endure.
Pdivvy is like that Translator, no one understood what he was saying as it made no sense.

I think it was because there was some internal anc agreeement that the next president would be Zulu.Mike would probably add to this.He has some 700 odd charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering which he needs to answer in court but has managed to prevent that thus far. His finacial advisor (Schabir Schaik) was sent to jail but Zuma managed to get him out on health grounds on the basis of Shabir being terminally ill which is ecxceedingly odd as Shabir enjoys his golf and fine restaurants etc etc.

There is no way that the senior levels in public service is not both incompetent and/or  corrupt.   I have seen too much of it to counter any allegations to the contrary.    This troll apparently does not know anything about sign language and is being investigated for fraud amounting to R1 800 000.

The Cabinet did the ordinary and blame the public service for the mess.   Some official will be discharged and turn up in another government department next moth in a more senior position than he had thus far.   He will no doubt benefit from knowing the shenanigans of his seniors - so he must be paid out of public purse to keep quiet. That is how the system works - a system where corruption is rife and the culprits are not acted against.

There is no way  in which the problem can be solved easily while corruption is engineered from the top.   Some security upgrading in respect of Zuma's private house in rural Zululand needs to be done  - but Zuma also wants some private work done.   So he appointed an architect to do both his private work and the Government work.   He also insisted that the same contractor does all the Government work anmd his own work as well,   So it is easy - the architect certify that all work is government related work and Zuma's own upgrading is paid for by the Government.   The costs mushroomed from R30 000 000 to R206 000 000 with a further R31 000 000 work still to be done.

Unbelievable - but Zuma got a private palace  built at Government costs and the Architect and construction contractors walk away with millions in looted money that should have ben used for the benefit of the poor in this country.   I am sick every time I read about this type of skulduggery.

They've found the fake signer - apparently he has a background of Schizophrenia and was hospitalised for a year for mental problems previously. According to him, he was also having hallucinations during the service.
A woman answered the Phone Number of the Company he claimed to have worked for and then hang up.

I'd just like to know what was going through his mind each time he made up the gestures.... The expressions were priceless... just making it up on the hop..... what a complete and utter crack up -

But my saffa buddy assures me this is just par for the course - he pays one of the directors (govt enforced coloured policy?) of his large transport company in SA to NOT come to work.... probably for this type of reason.....

Anyway this easily goes down in the top 10 performances of 2013............... along with maybe..... dean barker.... oops sorry couldn't resist....
