You have apparently done a lot of work on this issue - but you still have not included  Francois Steyn in the above calculations.  Why not?
I have another issue which I also calculate and that is the average gain in meters per carry - which I also use to even out the differences between the players with regard to the number of actual games played and number of balls handled.
For instance the following are the results of that evaluation:-
No 13 centers
C Smith          =       3,75Engelbrecht     =       3,77De Jongh         =       2,37Fekitoa           =       5,88
On average Fekitoa is going to do much more when he gets the ball than the other centers mentioned.
No 12 Centers
Serfontein      =        3,46De Villiers       =        3,69De Allende      =        5,66
On average De Allende is going to do much more when he gets the ball than the other centers mentioned.

 True fair enought thought of averages but wanted a more overall collective perspective. Frans Steyn techniquley a flyhalf not centre. A more accurate way is to base averages based on their amount of games, as someone playing more gsmes, is going to make more tackles or score more points, or make more carries and metres. So looking at their rate of tackles is more accurate.
Defensive Averages: Tackles Per Game Made/Missed and Tackles Attempted, Strike Rate
C. Smith: Made = 9.2 Missed = 1.1 Attempted = 10.2 Ratio = 8.4
M.Fekitoa Made = 4.4 Missed = 1.2 Attempted = 5.6 Strike Rate = 18.1
J. Serfeintain Made = 7.1 Missed = 1.36Attempted= 9.18 Strike Rate = 11.26
JDV Made = 5.7 Missed =0.8 Attempted = 6.6 Strike Rate = 14.0
D. De Allende Made = 6.4 Missed = 1.3  Attempted = 7.4 Strike Rate = 12.5
J. Sadie Made = 6.81 Missed = 1 Attempted = 7.81 Strike Rate = 11.74
F. Steyn Made = 6.7 Missed = 2.1 Attempted = 8.8 Strike Rate = 11.94
As you can see C Smith has the best Tackling Made Average, and F Steyn has the best average for tackles missed haha, hes missed 21 tackles for an average miss of 2.1 per game. The strike rate, is kinda like the strike rate in cricket, the accuracy of tackles made and rate of tackles made per game.

 If you want me to get stats on Sharks as a team Tackles Success rate, ill do it haha. But this has nothing to do with the teams performance, but the individual. Fyi Sharks only 1st on log due to favourable home draw.
