When Stephanie got dominated by RG on the kickoff last Saturday and embarrassingly was dumped by the jumper....he was hurt. Not surprising when the bigger man falls on you.
No doubt the chap was hurt.....but not that badly as I pointed out. Nobody with a serious shoulder injury swings his arms as he walks down the tunnel.
This incident mostly occurred because Stephanie bottled out on the jump with RG coming at him with pace. But never mind old Steph will be back against the inappropriately named Crusaders.
And he'll make 30 runs for 25 metres and 30 process tackles and the cameras will be drawn to the favourite son....and the media will just love him
All will be well, I promise.

RGs very few mistakes were errors of commission.....trying to make something happen. Some of his offloads were sublime...a few were too ambitious. But there is no forward in SA that offloads better.....certainly not the slow poke from Riebeeck West, who dies with the ball every time.
Throw off the blinkers Draad....nothing Stephanie does couldn't be done as well or better by others.....he just gets the privilege of doing it all the time.
I'm not getting carried away....we have seen this mix of good and bad things from Snyman before. But he took a kickoff from the opposition, made some good metres and was untroubled in the lineouts while taking an opposition ball.....that against the supposedly international class Snickerling.
Give me players who want compete every time....caution can easiliy be instilled.....combativeness is in the genes.

One thing you will NEVER see from Steph is bottling it, it’s just not in his DNA.

Steph is constantly one of our best forwards week after week. Always makes metres with ball in hand through traffic. He imposes himself physically.
Has to be one of the first names on the Bok teamsheet along with Marx

Saffex, you should know the drill by now . . . Moffie takes a disliking to a certain player - usually because me or ou Maaik say something positive about him - and from then on it becomes Moffie's mission to trash that player at every possible opportunity. The Servile Gimps then jump onto the bandwagon and before you know it, the player's name and reputation are in tatters on this forum and anyone who dares to say anything positive about the player gets hounded by Moffie and the Gimps and branded as fool who doesn't know what he's talking about.
It's nothing short of pathetic and we've seen it with countless players including Jaque Fourie, Pat Lambie, Marcell Coetzee, Pieter-Steph du Toit and more recently the Du Preez twins.
I'm quite sure that this is the only rugby message board in the world where 2 time SA Player of the Year Pieter-Steph du Toit gets rubbished as a useless player.
Just take it from whence it comes . . . an ignorant rugby noob with the emotional maturity of a 5 year old who can't recognise rugby talent and who can't ever admit he's wrong about anything.

Drone on Dave.....Stephanie is not a good ball carrier, he rarely beats a tackle. And he is an average phase defender. The number of runs and the number of tackle attempts are often cited....but the tackle success ratio and metres made are distinctly ordinary.
What's worse is for a supposedly athletic lock.....he is a pretty poor lineout forward, and a worse lineout caller.
But answer this, do you really think Stephanie should be the Bok blindside, have you changed your mind?

Just pulling your leg Mike.....my daughter recently made Bobotie and melktert for some American friends who were watching the Masters. A huge success with one fellow saying it was the tastiest food he'd ever had.

Moz virtually every time Steph takes contact he breaches the advantage line and carries the momentum forward - that is a fact. Just what you want from a lock or blindside.
Your take is prejudicial bullshit. His defence is amongst the best. Given his count every game of course he will miss the odd one.
As for his line out work it’s as good as any other lock out there.
No I would not play him at flank I’d play him at lock. But I’d rather see him at 7 than some of the calls made by our Bok coaches recently.
For me he is too big and not athletic enough for flank, evidenced by those odd miss tackles where he over commits and is not athletic enough to change his direction to make that hit.
But it happens less and less with him. The positives he brings to any side he plays for far outweigh his lack of athleticism at 7. Funny thing is that lack of athleticism is excusable when he plays at lock.
Steph is a class act one of the best in the business. Give me Steph over any NH lock or Oz or Argie lock, he is one of the best in the game.

Well the numbers don't back up your perceptions Dave. Stephanie has 15% more runs than any open side flank (where he is categorized because of our numbering system).....but is only 10th in clean breaks and 4th in defenders beaten.
And if you compare him to blindside flanks....the right comparison.....he has also made more runs than any blindsider, but is only 7th in defenders beaten and 14th in clean breaks.
He is also 3rd in terms of handling errors and in terms of turnovers conceded, but only 18th in terms of offloads even though he had the ball in his hands more than any other flank!
The facts are very clear, Stephanie hogs the ball but is poor in terms of ball protection, clean breaks and defenders beaten. A total cul-de-sac.
