The Sharks seem to be heavily focused on the conditioning of their players , and the regimented system they are working on will surely pay dividends. The Culture of working to " set in stone " time scales and punctuality will create a mature mindset amongst the guys in Durban.

Can any of you Kiwi Guys give us South Africans an insight into what goes on that side of the planet with regards to the conditioning and structures. who are the leaders in that Field ?

I am not sure about the Sharks programme - but it must be similar to the Stormers one.   They have a training and conditioning programme up to 20 December and then take a break starting with the programme on 3 January again.   During the break the players on their own are expected to do some training like running and other exercises.

Hope Francois Steyn complies and do not return to training weighing 118kgs again like he did last year.   At that weight he is slow, fat and useless.

Those with foot injuries are expected to do upper body development exercises and even Etzebeth would have to keep busy during the time he will return to play - I guess on 8 February 2014.

The warm up matches starts on 25 January - when the Sharks plays Saracens in London.  That is followed by some local derbies.

The poor buggers do not have much of a break - they are earning their money the hard way.

They are bound to have less injuries in 2014 than they had in 2013.
