CONFIRMED - De Allende misses June tests

 What rotten luck!

 We are down to Jan, JJ, De Jongh and Sithole. As long as Jean and Allende are fit for the 4 Nations its not too bad. Lets see how these others do.
Glad for Boschoff he deserves a call up before Goosen. Wrap Goosen up in cotton wool and leave him at Bloenfontein I say.

 The only two fly-halfs in the team now are Goosen and Boshoff.The rest are all passengers.Frans Steyn is a center.

 I think that Meyer is really disappointed by the injury to De Allende/  I think he was seriously considering starting with him on Saturday.   However, we now have five centers left in teh squad 0 banely

YThe latter is developing and not ready for tests.   AQ Steyn - DE Jongh pairing will be a disaster  and although I do not think they would be an ideal combination - I cannot see whether their is an alternative yo a Serfontein- Engelbrecht pairing.

 Serfontein and Sithole? I know this is unlikely, just throwing names out there.
I'm afraid that our centers might get out played by Roberts and Davies. Also the World team are probably going to start Olivier and Ranger who are good players, but they haven't had time to gel so may not perform too well.
I think that Meyer won't pick Frans Steyn because of his injury, if he deems him fit I think that Steyn will start. I also think that JJ won't start due to poor form, I think that Meyer will pick De Jong because of his test experience. Serfontein will start if Steyn isn't fit. 
I would also not be surprised if Meyer picks Kirchner at fullback due to Le Roux's poor defence. Meyer will probably opt for as much experience in the backline due to De Villiers injury, so a back three of Habana, JP and Kirchner will bring some sort of solidarity. This might not happen if he starts Morne Steyn, depends which flyhalf he chooses. *CONTRADICTION* He may even go the complete opposite way and have Goosen and Le Roux starting because of their familiarity with each other.

Fortunately for us Davies is not in the Wales team.
Kirchner's defense is  non-existent - so if Meyer picks Kirchner ahead of le rou he would have a lot of explaining to do to the Public.   
The problem with Steyn is that he is a critical part of a backline that is constantly malfunctioning and there can be no doubt hat Steyn is a major reason for the said malfunctioning.  
De Jongh would be even a worse selection.  He was extremely por in his last three tests and he shines because other players put him into space and he can then look good,  I do not think that would happen sibce his fdefense is seriously defective. 
I think that Meyer is in fact thinking of a starting line up of De Villiers and De Allende in the CR and think that is what we will ultimately see, since Fourie would not be available.in any event. .    

 I think you've mixed up Bradley Davies (Lock) and Jonathan Davies (Outside center), the former is injured while the latter is available. 
Kirchner's defence is better than Le Roux's, Willie is quite weak in the tackle. They're both poor tacklers, best of the worst. Depends if Meyer decides to go conservative or expansive. 
They're both bad selections, I'm just trying to predict what Meyer is going to do. I think that Serfontein is De Villiers heir in Meyer's mind, so is there is a huge chance that he plays and is a certainty if Steyn is injured. 
I really hope De Allende solves our outside center problem, him and Serfontein would be deadly if they gelled!

Look no centre is  going to be deadly if that centre has no pace and only has an inside step...as is the case with Serfontein. But he may be better than JJ who you were punting last year....viciously attacking me for dissenting. Now I see you are quietly distancing yourself from your big pick JJ. What did it for you, his 6 turnovers last weekend?

JJ was the best outside center we had last year, this year his form has dipped. He never was my 'big pick' more like a stop gap and I said that last year. Viciously attacking? I was one of the people that questioned JJ after he botched up 2 tries against Italy, granted I didn't scream for his removal I just questioned the fact that he doesn't seem to get low quick enough with his high centre of gravity. 
Serfontein is quality, you're jus tremendously biased. Everyone else can see that he is a good player except for you. Don't you wonder why?

I very much doubt there could ever be as bad an outside centre as JJ.

Even an ancient out of form Jaque Fourie was preferred to him in the end.

Serfontein showed at jr level that he had the goods. He needs proper game time at test level to convince me he's made the step up.

I hope Meyer gives him his shot over the next few tests ... consistently picking him to start.

Only then will we know for sure.

Oh this is priceless. Now JJ was your stop gap centre....arent  you a bit embarrassed to lie like that? As for Serfontein he has started 14 or so  times for the Bools this year....use that a measuring stick. He has been perfectly ordinary....in fact he has looked like a Wynand Olivier clone....right upto being gassed on the outside by Speight. Last week the journeyman Hollenbach  outplayed him.  This guy was a good junior player....precocious in fact. But as a senior player, what's his big weapon? He is on the slow side, not particularly strong, he does not  even have a smidgen of Willie's vision. What will he use too crack international defences . I can't see it.

Yeah, Jan hasnt done much this year. He needs to show us that he can vary his play. The Bulls might not be the best place to showcase his potential. The fact remains that he doesnt play as if mandated to create space. Those bad habit game plan elements are surely impeding his growth

 Frans Steyn is too slow for center. Jordaan and Sadie would have been better picks by Meyer. Sithole is green. De Jongh a powder puff tackler with poor distribution skills. We are in a difficult position now.
Given who Meyer has its Jan at 12 and JJ at 13. The very best outcome in these situations is that all players who dont belong are fully exposed and cut loose. 
Cheaser I agree Willie's defence is not great at fullback. Wing is his best position. We are thin at fullback. No great fullback around so Willie will stay there and JP (Who lacks a yard) and Habana will be the back 3.
Du Preez will be at scrummie and Morne Steyn at flyhalf. Meyer's backline will most likely be:
Du Preez, Morne, Habana, Jan, JJ, JP and Willie.
