Contenders for IRB player of the year award

It has to be Duane - I mean who else. 
If Pollard has a great tour he may find himself on the list of contenders.

Earlier in the season Willie le Roux would have been my favourite, but now towards the end of the year, Duane is certainly also my candidate...... hope he could carry this form into the 2015 RWC.  

 Be from SA and NZ, and maybe Oz nd Europe. But yeah have to wait for Eoyt. From SA Duane is a front runner, im picking Savea fromNz, and Hooper from Oz, Not sure who from Europe. 

 I have only seen him in the RC but Creevy was pretty impressive in that competition. Would be hard to go past Duane for consistent great performance and to play like he did on Saturday with the injury he had had shows the heart of the man. Hooper could be up there after strong showings in a team that was not always going well and to have captaincy thrown at him and responding the way he has.

3ku1 I agree 100%. All three have been instrumental in their respective teams. 
Pollard has not done anywhere near enough guys. Yes he's had a couple of good games, but he also had some poor ones. Parts of his kicking game are still lacking, h is kicking at goal is not what it should be and he has missed touch with a number of penalties during the Rugby Champs. His attack is a breath of fresh air, and he is certainly effective on that front, but to be considered for world player of the year, he'd need to be effective in all aspects related to his position. He has not ticked all the boxes. 

 He will not make player of the year but 4 more tests like this one and he could make the list.
SA has a great flyhalf in the making and a great scrummie or two. Plus the OLD back balance in th e game is coming back.
I am pleased to say even WP are getting their attacking falir back. Since when were WP only a defensive unit. Since when were the NBoks a kick and skop side. 
I put it all down to the malignant inluence of the bulle and their winning the super 15 that got us unbalanced. 
It is also the bulle fault that the  idea came into being that one could play one extremely pap lock - it' s been adisaster for us for over a decade now. Bulle are at the root of many problems. Their consistent raiding of other provinces playing stocks is another.  Bulle please wise up oaks! 

Ten man rugby was a part of Springbok rugby looooong before the Bulls won the Super 14!! The Bulls do poach plenty of players....just like all the other big unions. If the Bulls can afford to pay more to lure players then that is testimony to a well run union. 
Here is a fact, if Province had the money to stockpile 10 players in each position, they would do it, just like any other professional sports team. 
It is the professional era, deal with it man!

I was also thinking of Savea and maybe Hooper could stand a chance and yes Creevy as well...his input in the raising standard of Argentine rugby has been very noteworthy, however Duane stands out imo.

Doubt if they would award Pollard both junior and senior though even if he proves it in forthcoming matches...he'll have his chances next year and following years...we have a gem here that's for sure and that does not faze me being a great Lambie fan...in fact that's really a good situation...having 2 class number 10's going into a world cup is the ideal situation.

 Duane does standout, however in the forwards. Savea has huge influence in the backs. He often gets NZ over the advantage line. Unpopular opinion coming , Richie has been outstanding Imo. Leading tackler of the RC, he could make the list. 

Can you believe Pierre Spies was keeping Vermeulen out of the Bok team for so long?

What about Retallick? Not flashy as he is a tight 5 forward so the backs & loosies get more attention but IMO he is a contender. Plus he is a Chief (que for Brycy to offer support). lol

Savea vs Vermeulen. But a really gutsy choice would be Ayerza for his dominating scrumming.

JW if Retallik fitted himself out with a set of Jaws teeth, he would walk it. 

I thought he already had Jaws teeth, lol but even if he doesn't it isn't a beauty contest.
