Now that we've had three games under him as Bok skip and the S18 season has been concluded as far as his side goes, can we discuss our feelings on him as skipper again? As I stated prior to the Irish series, I didn't support the idea and nothing I have seen during the interim has convinced me otherwise.

Don't think Coetzee really had a whole lot of options as far as established players.
I thought it would be Beast personally going with the transformation theme. Louw and Vermulen both based overseas, Lambie not an incumbent player at any position, Willie and Eben not captain material (at least not yet).
The rest of the players too young, un-blooded or little experience.
We may very well have a new captain next year as the team settles out.

Not optimal, but who else is there. Whiteley provided a lot of leadership in our second test recovery.....but is he a real test regular?

My problem is that  Strauss is not the best player in the hooker position in the country anymore.

We all know Strauss isn't the right choice. Not as a leader and not as a hooker. He's second rate in both.
Why was he selected then?
Coetzee doesn't have his thumb on the pulse of South African rugby.
He couldn't even select the best players of colour in the country ... for that matter, he doesn't know who the hot and upcoming talented white boys are either.
He's just an ignorant fool ... across the board ... how's he ever going to get the captaincy right.
We're deeper in the dwang than we've ever been.
I look very much forward to the RC this year. I suspect we'll be hearing a whole lot more booing before long.
