My brother told me that TJ Jackson is a son of a farmer near Riversdale - who is at the Oakdale Agriculture High School outside Riversdale. I grew up on a farm outside Riversdale (bordering the Oakdale school property) and that makes for an interesting following of the playing career of this youngster.

I'll keep an eye out for those two.
Still no sign of Duhan Van Der Merwe playing for the Bulls, he wasn't named in any of the U/19 or U/21 teams that I've seen.

Mike, when my lads team played Outeniqua last year, that monster lock played against them and he was U16 then - they could not believe the size of the lad

I do not know what happened to Duhan van der Merwe. What i do know he is on a SARU contract - not a Bulls contract. He was injured earlier this year and did not attend the SARU training programme - as a result of which he was not int eh initial Under 20 squad that went to New Zealand - but later called up.
He played in the Argentina games and was really the top player in those matches. When he was called up subsequently to go to New Zealand he was rarely used and only came from the ebnch in teh final. There he was the one player that help creating the one try scored by Jesse Kriel.
Will keep my eye open to see what he is about.
By the way something I did not mention is that JT Jackson also converted four of the tries as well. His total point score in that game was 22 points of the total of 38 points.

Yeah I watched him in the JWC and read up on the Argentina series.
The SARU contract refers to his 7's call up I think and he is in the U/19's team to face the Sharks this weekend, the team sheet got released day after my comment. I honestly believe Duhan could handle Super rugby now, it's not a case of throwing him in a deep end I just think he is in the same calibre as George North and Julian Savea who both played Super Rugby/international rugby at a younger age than most.

Thanks for the info Mike and yes one has to worry about the parasitic bulle and sharks snaffling our talent again. I trust Smal will take immediate steps to sign these guys and improve our talent spotting and retention abilities!!
I also have to say I have some unease re the kiwis. They dont produce tight forwards and with their dollar being at R9.30 they have the financial ability to perhaps lure some decent young tight forwards to nz!
Persish the thought of course but please understand the nz rugby intelligensia, the very few making up that company, could quite possibly wake up and understand the advantage their strong currency gives them. Even if a simple rural kiwi like ou ab ass doesnt.

JT Jackson has signed a contract with Bulls....and may I add that solid Bulls inside centre Franco Nuade is a quality player he was not that great at CW but this year he was the stand out 12 in Gauteng..he's also a Bulls player.Duhan van der Merwe is back with the Bulls for good don't be shocked if he's called up to the CC team....

Bulls Under 19's have one of the best lock pairings this year...RG Snyman stands at 2.06m and 115kgs...Jason Jenkins is the enforcer..2.01m and 120kgs...they will make SA under 20 squad with JD next year IMHO.

WP have signed arguably the biggest lock schoolboy lock this year Paarl Gym enforcer Jaco Willemse..2.00 AND 120kgs...and Zandberg.Affies and Bulls CW full back Keyter is also heading to WP.

Why is everyone pointing fingers at the sharks and bulls poaching schoolboy talent in the cape?!?!WP signed over 43 schoolboy players last year..half that group was from around the country.WP this year poached Keyter arguably one of the best full backs in school rugby this year from Bulls country...may I also add scrumhalf Justin Phillips...all the unions big unions do it...it's all about the budget.

Thanks for update. I don't mind who poaches who, just as long as the cream rises to the top and the best players play for SA.

Blue Machine the boys were probably coming down to study at our two very distinguised universities, UCT and Stellenbosch. Cape Town is of course a magnet for school leavers being the premier city in South Africa.Ask yourslef if you were leving school would you prefer to stay in that one horse town Pretoria or live in Cape TownCa se closed.
Anyhow Blue Machine please keep your grubby hands off our talent. I do know you guys for some unkown reason have much more money. I can only hope it was gained through legitmate means.
