posting opinions on cricket is good,

posting opinions on cricket in a rugby forum when there is a cricket forum just underneath is bad,

come on mikey, admin already cleaned up the rugby forums by shifting those cricket topics out and here u are littering again,

 Is it really a matter of being pissed off at cricket posts, or is it being pissed off about knowing nothing about cricket or is it being pissed of because the Black Caps are worth shit when it comes to cricket.

i know nothing about cricket thats for sure, i played it at school and if i wasnt batting or bowling i was bored as F.
what i do know is that any sport that can be played over 5 days and still end in a draw is the equivalent of watching keeping up with the kardashians.

cricket has zero interest for me, thats why i frequent the rugby forums cos rugby to me is like the All Blacks, its No1.

i also have great love for rugby league and MMA which i both love, not as much as union, but rate i rate both very highly.

i also follow collingwood in the AFL and manchester united in the EPL (stop laughing rooy) and enjoy NBA games but dont really follow any teams, i tend to follow certain players.

my main beef with cricket threads in the rugby forums is that it pushes out other rugby related threads which i know i would find more interesting.
mozters top 5 list is an example, as i was away from the threads for a few days and came back to find them all at the bottom, kapish???

fishing and using black caps as bait will always make me laughm just like ur comments about NH rugby catching up with SH did, :oP

It is clear that you are not on par as far as cricket goes and I am not having a go at you because of that. Thing is that you have to understand the dynamics of the game, especially test cricket to really enjoy it. And the only way to learn and understand the dynamics of test cricket is to watch it. Catch 22 if you have ever seen one. LOL. Some of the most exciting matches that I have ever watched were ones that ended in a draw, if that makes any sense. There are two that immediately comes to mind. Both of them involved SA. The first one  is the epic battle between Mike Atherton and Alan Donald at the very same ground where SA and India are battling it out at the moment. The other one was the draw between SA and England at Lord's in 2008. England had SA on the ropes and we needed something like 500 runs in the fourth innings to save the game, i.e. to draw it and avoid being beaten by England. It was one hell of a battle and we managed to pull of a draw. That was as good as a win. It is almost like being 24-0 down in a  rugga game with 15 minutes to go and you manage to secure a draw.  Funny old game, cricket. I just love the tactical battles over days between the two captains and the battles between bat and ball.

The other sports that I enjoy is F1, a bit of athletics and golf and then of course football as well. I only started watching football in 2006/7.

20/20 seems a lot more exciting IMO, but the cricket purists i talk too about it here in OZ are a lot like u, they love the tactics etc.

funny thing about football is i started following it around about 2007/2008, some coloured saffa mates of mine here in melbourne were hardout into their football, and i use to hang out with them all the time and played heaps of fifa with them which is how i started following man united.

 De Kock should be in the side. I hope he forces the issues by making big runs in the domestic comp.Comes in for Alviro.
Kallis needs to be dropped and play domestic cricket to get back his form. But he is nearing the end.Duminy has simply not kicked on. He probably keeps in the side because of his spin bowling. Drop him as well.

Yep. Looks like you are in need of a lot of cricket education. There is no such thing as a one day test. It is a ODI (One Day International match). That is why the five day matches are called tests because that is exactly what it is. A test of tactical finesse, concentration, physical endurance and perseverance.

As far as the football goes, I always vowed never to watch football because I believed that it was a load of BS. You can play for 90+ minutes and still end up with a 0-0 draw/ My son got me interested and I started studying the laws and watching the games to try and  figure out the dynamics of the game and once I understood it, I was hooked. I am a Gooner. COYG

Test cricket...... one of very few games where a draw can be a result. This one was right up there with the draw between SA and England at Lord's in 2008, IMO.

Or Adelaide last year.
