where are we posting, right here or downstairs? I'm not fussed but like everyone else I'd like to post where there's traffic.

@denny,

most of the folks have been posting thier cricket stories here the past month.

but with spXV rugby preseason games being played at the moment, the 6nats and the ever popular fantasy rugby, its prob better to post where it should be so that it sticks around longer, not all cricket fans here blog as much as others, and at least they will be able to comment eventually :o)

Denny, keep it up here and stuff those that moan.

Still cannot believe that de Kock is not in the squad, its pathetic really. I am not convinced about Faf at 4, he does not have the class........AB should have moved to 4 with de Kock taking the gloves.

I cant help but feel that SA has their squad all wrong. The two Petersens are average and McLaren at 7 will be a liability.

My side would have been:

1. Smith 2. Elgar 3. Amla 4. AB 5. JP 6. de Kock (w) 7. Miller 8. Philander 9. Steyn 10. Morkel 11. de Lange

Elgar? What has Dean Elgar done to deserve a place ahead of Alviro Pietersen? I like the rest of your XI.

No, I say leave the cricket board and let the cricket discussions happen there. Maybe give the rugby board another 10 rows and make the cricket section a bit smaller.

Alviro is just too inconsistent........Elgar has yet to prove himself at test level but has only had 9 test innings's at an average of 30

Alviro on the otherhand has had 50 innings's to prove his worth and with an test average of 38, that is just not good enough........his first class average is not much better at 39

Alviro of course is also 33.........so hardly a kid who has places to go.

I am not sure Elgar is the answer.......maybe open with de Kock and have a player like Rillee Rossouw come into the middle order

Duminy got injured and is unlikely to play,  so my test cricket team would be as follows:  -

Smithm, Pietersen, Amla, Elgar, De Villiers, Du Plessis, De Kock, McLaren, Philander, Steyn and Morkel

For ODI's and T20's

De Kock, Amla, Rossouw, De Villiers, Miller, Du Plessis, Duminy, Steyn, Morkrl, Hedrriks

In this case I would add Reeza Hendriks, Delport, Elgar, McLaren and Tsotsobe yo the squad.

Duminy injured his hand during training - but there is no indication of the seriousness of the injury.  May know the situation tomorrow.

Guys it will work if we all traffic downstairs, CYA down there. Must say I don't fancy our chances in the 1st test with the likes of Elgar, Alviro, Duminy and Ryan ..who?

Saffex

Hear nothing more - so he might be fit to play in the test.   His batting recently took a serious dip - and it is worrisome.

Was surprised to see that Sky showed the Ram Slam final - Cobras vs Dolphins.......had heard plenty of good things about Stiaan v/Zyl as a bat.......and could not help but think that SA have missed a trick in not investing in this lad at some point.......what a stylish looking left hand bat.......he is 26 and has a first class average of 45........Robin Jackman said he would play for SA........I kept wondering why it has taken so long
