With the World Cup around the corner and our current genius coaches attitude towards our flyhalfs, one wonders who should have been in the mix?

Here are the fly halves they picked for the squad.

Pollard - Out of form and Injured

Jantjies - Abysmal form, injured and doesn't show the team values that the boks ask of players

Willemse - Been moonlighting as a full back come centre, originally a flyhallf but very similar to Jantjies in that his players don't know what he is thinking

Goosen - Been out for most of the season and haven't played for nine months due to ACL injury

Frans Steyn - Never was a flyhallf even though he has been tried there several times. His best position was probably 15 or 12. 36, not sure what he will add

Willie Le Roux - Often the 2nd flyhallf and the most creative bok player, but not sure who will own the kicking duties.

Looking further down the pecking order, I don't see any other players who can fill the void.

Manie Libbok, best 10 this year in the URC, but also have a very poor and telling stat against him. Ball lost in contact. Hightest in the comp, so for the all the good he does, not sure if this cancels him out

Morne Steyn has retired and probably only good for URC at best and now more of a backup flyhallf

Curwin Bosh, for all of his talent, he simply haven't set the world alight. Was forced to move to full back when Robert Du Preez was at the sharks, came good in one season but last season the sharks were a complete mess in the backline.

Christ Smit, doesn't set the world alight, kicks well but bulls backline got a back stagnant once Goosen got injured, that said, did improve over the season and the bulls reached the finals.

Hendrikse, still not convince about the older brother of Jaden, has a great boot, can run a bit but it is a very poos lions side.

The only other player that is coming back up is

Robert Du Preez. Put in a good shift for Sale this weekend. However, been playing at 13 last season. So can be versatile, but not my favourite backline player. Comes accross very slow, kicking is okay and distribution is there about.

What do you guys think should be done with our flyhavles?

with what we have available ... the question should he ... would we be better off without a 10 than to actually play someone there?

maybe selecting another centre to help DeLindy would be a better option.

leave the 10 jersey in the locker room.

With Jantjies out it has the impact of keeping Willemse at 10 which is not good for the Boks The only salvation will be if Goosen makes a comeback but he needs to start playing again for the Bulls now Hendrikse looked very good when he first started for the Lions, showing good attacking attributes and a good all round game. He then seemed to lose his spark and just appeared to be pretty solid Libbok is a great attacking 10 but his lack of size can be exposed Bosch has no hard edge at all Baby Bok Sasha Mngomezulu looks a really great prospect - he oozes class. Pollard walked straight into the Bok side from the Baby Bok side so it’s been done before

Willemse is fine either 10 or 12.

At 10 he has less creative license and is fast on the ball. Meaning that his intentions are more easily discernable.

Honestly, I like him for 10. Pollard is pedigree but rarely provides that Barrett breakout moment.

For me, that's something Boks could do with. Willemse offers creative threat while on relative par with Pollard's error rate. His out-of-hand kicking is also better than he gets credit for. They(Boks) dominate physically and the odd break, or threat thereof, is the icing on the cake of winning an attritional war. It's one of the currently missing pieces of their game , for me anyway.

Willemse is a straight-up superstar. The type that you build a team around.

The solution to the "crisis" is obvious.

Bullshit he is a crap 10 as he proved playing for the Stormers He is an instinctive , impulsive player - attributes not suited to 10, where you need to be more measured and controlled His software is not wired for 10, his creative licence is fused at 10. Another weakness is his slow hand to foot so is very susceptible to being charged down He is so similar in his wiring to Frans Steyn, although different in that Willemse is a stepper while Frans more direct

Frans use to be a stepper before all the good food in France cause him to gain weight.

Willemse is okay at 10 but I agree with Saffex, other than being a deadly ball in hand runner, Willemse matured a lot at 12 this year. I prefer Rikus Pretorius, shame he went to Japan.

Yeah, not sure about Libbok. Although, the Stormers did amazing with Willemse, gelant and Libbok operating in the back line.

Yes Rickus is a big loss the Stormers with all their crap signings like Blommetjies should have rather made sure Rickus stayed

I agree with Dave on the baby Bok but he requires to be groomed for international rugby not just dumped in the team with limited top quality rugby experience.

Start him from the bench in a few games to get the feel and exposure first.

Hendrikse is another young #10 with potential to be a winner sadly he is in the weakest Lions team for ages and that for sure compromises his style of play.

But time to get young blood on the field and rest the old warriors.
