ABs had an off day, even the haka did not look convincing. Kev is too nice to lead the haka. We won a game in which we played maybe 10% below our normal standards. A win is a win. This game should revitalise the ABs. They had to deal with some injuries & still pulled together a win. Ben Smith played well, Coles was good & of course Richie and Reid.

I agree with you JW - Kev is definitely too nice to lead the haka. I can see now how much work Whitlock does that is not seen - it is only when he is absent that you see it because we are so used to it being done without having to mention it

Read is the most underrated player in rugby.
Just wish he was a Saffer though.

"Cruden I thought had a pretty ordinary day."

@hakwa,
"I can see now how much work Whitlock does that is not seen - it is only when he is absent that you see it"
you spot on, mate.
Whitelock has been sorely missed even when Thrush has made a correct job. But Whitelock is in another level, where only Retallick and Etzebeth (not since returned from injury) could match him.
His lineouts' guidance and wokload all over the park has no possible replacement.
When is his return expected?

Beeno: ABs went out of there way to re-motivate the Boks & this is the appreciation we get ? Aren't you all feeling better now?

Luatua not in the same class as Messam or Kaino. Even with so many 1st team regulars out, this ABs team still finds a way to win. Psychologically destroying for Meyer and his team.

Whitelock & Messam were projected to be back in time for the dead rubber Bledisloe cup test on October 18.

BP I think the SANZAR site has a section on injuries .And too true about Whitelock he was the main injury worry for me ,Kaino Messam needed to enforce things a wee bit eh ?
