Former Crusaders stalwart Matt Sexton will coach Super Rugby newcomers, the Kings, in next year's tournament.
Sexton will take charge of both the Kings' Super Rugby and Currie Cup sides from July this year.
He takes over the reins from current Kings coach Alan Solomons, who will become the Eastern Province side's director of rugby.
Kings spokesman, Sakhi Gqeba, confirmed that Sexton signed a two-year contract with the Port Elizabeth-based franchise.
The 41-year-old Sexton will be joined by fellow New Zealander, Brad Mooar, who will be the Kings' specialist skills coach. Mooar is currently the head coach of the Canterbury U19 side.
Sexton played 128 games for Canterbury and 36 Super Rugby matches for the Crusaders. He also played in Europe with leading Irish province Ulster, where he was coached by Solomons.
Solomons believes Sexton will be a great asset.
"Matt is head and shoulders the right guy for Eastern Province rugby," he told MYPE.co.za
"He is a good man and has the capability to land up coaching New Zealand.
"I personally vouch for Matt Sexton as he possesses the exact character traits that we are looking for in EP Rugby - integrity, altruism and professionalism," Solomons added.
Wish I could wish them well but their back door approach turns me off.
