Currie Cup a joke!

Some may not agree, but it is true! After half a year of Super Rugby, the June Internationals and the Rugby Championship, the Currie cup is just insignificant. After so much rugby of the highest caliber, the Currie cup has become nothing but an anti-climax! 
I understand its historic significance, but try as I may, I just don't give a rats ass about it! 
Another thing, the players that earn their respective teams a place in the Currie Cup semi-finals, get sidelined for the returning Springboks, who then go on to enjoy all the glory that they had no part in earning. Kak system!!! 
The Currie Cup needs a serious review or else it is destined to fail!

It is only interesting to see the new players coming through Senatala and Kolbe,and also watching the top 4 teams when they play each other.

That is true, but you could just as well watch the Vodacom cup or Varsity cup to see the up and coming talents making names for themselves. 

Rubbish, I have enjoyed the CC and as Sharktwat says, there has been plenty of new talent on show. Long live the CC  

We hear this same nonsense every year . . . moan, groan . . . the CC is crap, the quality of rugby in the CC is crap but the S15 is so wonderful. 
I say rubbish. The CC is brilliant and the quality of rugby is as good if not better than the S15. The format of the S15 sucks and many of the games this year (and last year) were uninspiring going-through-the-motions yawnfests that neither the players not the fans seemed to care about. In contrast, just about every CC game I've watched this year has been entertaining and played with real passion and commitment.
Never mind the wonderful traditions of the world's greatest domestic rugby competition, the quality is fantastic. If you're a South African and you don't like the Currie Cup then why on earth are you watching rugby at all?
Long live the world's greatest domestic rugby competition and GO SHARKS!!!

Sure the stands may not be full, but thats largely due to DSTV...
SXV figures also dwindled a bit in 2012 and 2013.

There is a lot more to the CC than just the 80 minutes on the park.
It is our breeding ground for youngsters and the training ground for fringe Bokke.

SA rugby would never be where they are today if it were not for the Currie Cup. How else are we going to bring talent through the ranks?? Please dont tell me the Vodacom Cup? I barely know any of the players that play there.

 Understand what you are saying bluebok but would disagree. We don't get to see a great deal of cc matches in oz but I love watching the couple we get every week and prefer it to the Kiwi provincial rugby. Has been a good standard for mine and a lot of good players coming through. Also look forward to the sharks taking out the competition this year.
