Summary of D1
Faf erred in deciding to bat...you don't lose a test by bowling first and the Perth wicket is an amazing wicket for everyone to get used to.Cook suffered from nerves and lack of form....he needs to be replaced.Congrats to the Ozzies who bowled consistently well...all 5 Bowlers were on the spot by exploiting the wicket to it's max potential.Our batsmen got out to good balls, balls that were extremely difficult to play.Faf, Philander and Maharaj gifted their wickets.QDK was sensational. Bavuma was the anchor and steadier of the ship....unlucky in the manner he was dismissed. Bat onto pad which allowed for the catch.
Cook has to be replaced by QDK also making way for  Rillee Rossouw to be added to the starting lineup.
Starting with Maharaj and leaving out Shamsi is an exciting and bold move.....I can see an ace up the sleeve of the Protea management.
My phone is off the hook, I've thrown the mobile out the window and I've turned on the Telly for another day of absorbing cricket.

 Well..well.........well, welcome to the world of cricket as we witness the old adage kick in....."Cricket is a funny game."
After an overnite score of 0 for 110 one could be excused for thinking that the Proteas were in for a long hard couple of days with a gigantic mountain to climb staring down a humungous 1st innings Oz  total. Oz were in a very comfortable position with oodles of time to put 600 plus on the scoreboard.

Not so.
Our brave lads fought back well in the morning session spearheaded by Steyn who unfortunately injured his shoulder in the middle of a crucial fightback. Steyn and the luckless Philander were superb in hitting the right areas and there was a sense they'd be rewarded with persistence.
It's annoying that Steyn and Rabada, Steyn especially, allowed the Ozzies to get to an overnite score of 110 only to realise that they were bowling in the wrong areas!Strueth, the Ozzie attack had already set the example of the line and length to be bowled. The mind boggles if commonsense had prevailed instead of acts of stupidity.
Anyway after all that we're back in the game......it's been test cricket at it's riveting best, we still need some luck, let's hope Steyn makes a rapid recovery and that the Ozzies are all out before the end of today's play.
