Danny Cipriani- Back in the Media

England rugby union international Danny Cipriani has been arrested at a nightclub in St Helier, his club Gloucester have confirmed.

Police say he has been charged with common assault, larceny, assault on police, resisting arrest and being disorderly on licensed premises.

The former Sale player will appear at Jersey Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.

The club said in a statement: "Gloucester Rugby are very aware of an incident involving Danny Cipriani in the early hours of Wednesday morning following an incident at a St Helier nightclub.

"He was arrested and has since been charged.

"He will appear at Jersey Magistrates Court at 10 a.m. tomorrow morning."

Cipriani only joined Gloucester this summer after leaving Wasps and was in Jersey as part of the club's pre-season preparations.

The fly-half is currently first choice in his position in England after a number of years out of the frame.

Henson went off the rails when he got involved with Charlotte Church. What ever happened to him anyway? Had such a bright future, then disappeared. Perhaps around time James Hook became prominent. 

I do recall Cipriani being involved in a few incidents in the past. Wasn't there an in incident at someone's wedding? 

Great rugby players that cannot handle the spoils that go with success...strangely you very seldom see this in golf and tennis where the stakes are very high...more discipline required to be a champion in individual sport...rugby players and soccer players another story...I remember Georgie Best...these guys act the same way. Danny is an outstanding rugby union player but has impaired his otherwise successful career by his reckless behaviour.

Seb WTF ? Have you not read anything about the antics of golfers ,and not just wee Tiger ?Many tennis players have sipped from the naughty cup too dude.

Yeah I'm aware that it happens sometimes...I remember Ernie Els when he was a very young man, I'm friendly with an old retired pro Barry Franklin who coached young Ernie...he knew the family well...Ernie went through a stage when he was too inclined to tipple but I think Gary Player reprimanded him and in a fatherly way admonished him and indicated that if you want to go places lay off.

But it's not as common...I guess they all do at times but certainly not constantly like Georgie Best (it killed him)and Danny seems too wild and James O'Connor (Australia)...another wasted soul.
