Dave you were right about the French pack not dominating.

I watched most of the match again.

Rassie did Avery clever thing. He did not commit to many players to the breakdown. You will often see few Boks getting involved.

This gave an impression of the French pack being on top at times. 

What what was happening shows Rassie's brilliance. He knew the danger of the French backline and how they could crack a defence with their steppers, passes and chip kicks etc.

Rassie made sure that forwards were available to beef up the defences. Hence although there were missed tackles etc they still couldn't score. 

Rassie also planned to allow the French to run at them. As the game went on the French attack wilted and became panic striken.  The final 35 minutes of the game saw the Boks dominating. 

Thanks to O'Keefe the scoreline flattered the French.

Although when it comes to selecting the useless effing powder-puff Mostert, Rassie reverts to being the dumbest rugby doos of a F@#$%^&* stupid coach..

Of course, France dominated the Bok forwards in the first 50 minutes. 
The Boks only got into the French quarter 3 times in the first half, and scored each time.

There were barely any scrums and lineouts in the first half, so the ruck was more important. 
France took the ball through lots more phases than the Boks, which meant they dominated possession and territory. 

When  Fourie got onto the pitch, and then Kwagga -  the game had opened up more.
The Boks started to retain possession through more recycled ruck phase play and the breakdown got better. (in the last 20 minutes).
