Deon Fiourie - what a let doiwn

i agree, fouries been disappointing in 2014, will have to bump him from my team this coming round.will prob go for the more consistent stephen moore, but will try to leave fourie on the bench in case theres a turn in his form.

He proved last year he is a crap line out thrower against the Crusaders when every ball he threw was to Whitelock. A perfect example of fantasy teams with Fourie being one of the top ranked hookers, even though it was his first game of the season at 2 . It is a primary function to be able to throw the ball in straight and on target

 Blame the coach who had no other alternative. Deon is an excellent 6. playing thse days in a lighweight pack.

but if deon fourie is to blame for whiotelock stealing all the stormers lineout ball, who was to blame for whitelock stealing all the Boks lineout ball??? o_O
fouries lineot throws afrent the best, but its not the horror show many make it out to be.lineouts which have long been a problem in NZ rugby has not been entirely fixed, but it has made positive progressions which other nations have struggled to contain.
it does make matfields inclusion into the Bok picture more interesting though,

it cant be disputed that hes not the best lock in 2014 though, unless playing zero games is then new level a player needs to play to be the best,

which is also what i said on the marfield thread, but face facts brother beeno, matfiled will be in the Boks in 2014.
Boks didnt need fourie du preez, gunthro steenkamp, bakkies botha, ruan pienaar, jacques fourie, fracois louw either, but that didnt stop meyer from anchoring the Boks down with them.

at least from that list of old nobodies, matfiled has more to offer, even if it is only in the lineouts.

 Fourie could never throw in straight, he is probably why the stormers lost in the early rounds last year. Should have gone with a hooker that can throw the ball in. Coetzee just dont have the brains.
 

 Fourie is also a poor scrummager. When Tian Liebenberg replaced him last year the Scrums and Lineouts improved instantly, and dramatically.
Bottom line he is to small to be a hooker, and will probably get tired playing iarn the front row if their is lots of scrums- and then will have no effect in his best areas- fetcher and ball carrier in the loose.
This is pretty obvious stuff to an arm chair expert watching the game on a Saterday, but the stupid coaches cant see this.
