Dillyn Leyds is surely starting to get calls for a Bok call-up. He is fast- and he easily roped in slowing Savea who has had one too many McDonald's.
When Savea passed, there was an inside player running in Support that caught the ball and scored. Not sure who the Stormers play was that made the pathetic tackle attempt- but it was useless.

Julian Savea  never was a speed merchant  he always was a strong carrier which enhanced his value as a wing.   Fact is most NZ wings are more strength players not selected for their speed.

The last pathetic tackle came from who else Dan Kriel....the Kriels seem to specialize in last in late, game losing missed tackles.

Exactly Mike. There's more to a wing than just raw pace.

Being difficult to bring down and getting an extra 5m go-foward is very valuable ... especially if you have someone playing off your shoulder like a Nonu or a Vorster.

Carrying 2 or 3 with you as your push onward takes them out of the game if you go to ground especially if quick ball is produced from the breakdown.

Brent Russell had explosive pace and excelleration ... and yet came to nothing in the end??

A physical player is of more value in the backline as a whole - rather than the weak physical players who relied on pace only.   The value of those players are enhanced by their ability to read games and take decisions.   We have way too duds pretending to be top class backline players without any physical clout.   Strong athletes are what is needed in this case.
For me the story of players being gassed is on the whole absolutely meaningless without looking at other aspects as well.

Leyds is an attacking luxury only afforded if the rest of the backline and the loosies are solid as a defensive unit....which the Stormers isn't by a country mile...and then some.
