I don't believe I have a reputation on this board as a ref-basher but I didn't think the Springboks deserved to lose that game and Romain Poitre played too big a part in the result of the game for my liking.

I would have been annoyed enough if Bismarck had served 10 minutes in the bin for the second yellow which to me was possibly a bit clumsy but not malicious and a perfectly legitimate attempt at a fend, but the first yellow against Biz was just plain wrong. Please, if the likes of Moolaa want to tell me that Bismarck was offsides then at at least take the trouble to view it again and if you still think that tackle was deserving of a yellow card then just piss off and go read up on the laws of the game! If that kind of tackle is not allowed in rugby then I'm honestly less inclined to watch the game in future because that was exactly the kind of hit I watch rugby for! Bismarck was effectively yellow carded for hitting Carter too hard and if that tackle was penalized back in the 1970s then the ref (and the bleaters like Moolaa) would have been ridiculed as pansies.

What really pisses me off was Poitre's response when Jean asked him why he had penalized the tackle and Poitre replied that it was high, late and he didn't use his arms. That was zero out of three for Poitre as far as I'm concerned. There was only one incident in the game that was even remotely worthy of a red card and that was Ma'a Nonu's cynical, late and armless hit on Jean de Villiers. Very disappointing result to a game that I was very excited for.

Hard luck Bokke! Let's set the record straight at Ellis Park!

Congrats rooitwit for once in your life you have manned up for the Boks- Its a red letter day!

That first try was no try. No one could possibly see it being grounded and the abs reaction made it clear they knew they had not scored. The questrions asked by the ref of any reason he could not award the try was daft!!!

Once again the abs have burgled a test. The TMO was also to blame big time as he advised the ref re Bissie's yellows - daft as they were. Mallet was disgusted, as was Skinstadt Naas etc. Bad offciating ruined the matc. The first yellow was called the worst decision Skinstadt had seen. PATHETIC but as usual the call went agaisnt the side pal;ying nz.

Was the TMo a New Zealander - as he certainly acted as one.

Disgusting performance condemed by mallet Mitchell Naas Skinstad in strong terms.

Both the ref and the TMO must be asked to explain themselves. Further I suggest a forensic audit to follow the money trail.

Lets hope the disgusting thug Nonu is cited and banned.  Do we really need the twit here at WP!!!!

I have not yet read the posts on the game but trust the kiwi bird brains are not trying to defend the indefensible.

What has rugby come to?

What rugby has come to Hasbeeno is that the ABs just chalked up another win against the Boks......getting a tad boring isn't it?

And I'm not trying to defend the indefensible; the ref took care of that and sent Bismarck off!

Rooinek, and you ask why I dont like some Kiwi's. Far too many "Moolaa's" out there.

There was no offside line in the Bismarck tackle on Carter. There was no ruck formed. It was open play. Secondly, all 3 (note all 3) of the NZ commentators who are great rugby men were appauled at the refs decision. Marshall and Wilson in fact commended Bismarck on a great, bone crunching hit. These are men that know the rules and have played the game for years at the highest level. Now we have Moolaa and Hakwa telling us how it was illegal. Yeah sure guys, keep telling yourself that!

The TMO had stated that he saw no foul play. The ref, like too many in the past, just wanted to please the All Black supporters in the crowd.

We all knew this was going to happen. Before the game I said all we hope for is a clear night, fair and competent ref and the players to decide the game. Once again, NZL could not offer any of those.

It grates me that nothing can be done about this. How will any team ever beat NZL at Eden Park like this? These refs should have to do a lot more explaining than they are asked to do.

Bismarck was having an incredible game. Him being sent off fucks everything up simply because we dont just lose him. We lose a flanker too and Bismarck and Alberts are two of our big players. Never stood a chance once that pompous prick reffing the game sent him off. Its never a fair contest anymore when NZL are involved.

I defy any NZer here to tell us with a straight face that they would've been happy if that happened to one of their hard men at Ellis Park . Enjoy your deserved victory............. WWII awaits in Jo'burg .

NOT OUR FAULT. NZ don't control the fucking REFS. Some of you SA need to understand this, we have no control over the refs. I totally agree with all of you the ref was a Fuk wit. Bismark didn't deserve to be sent off. It is now a shallow victory. In SA we can only hope that we can sort it. With a decent ref. For the record. I agree the ref was poor. A test finishing with13 players and 14 on the other side. WTF, are the players getting to loose with the rules and there discipline. As well. What can we do about it ?????seriously what can we do. Are all test going to end with the same BS discussions about how the ref scored and not the actual game. You would like to think the refs have some common sense. Maybe his poor English didn't help. I don't know.

Apart from Messam's Hollywood, nobody's blaming NZ . What's actually is a laugh, is Kiwis, from the coach down trying to justify the cards . Jeez mates, now that is truly funny .

Who is justifying the cards. Hansen himself said it was unfortunate that Bismark was sent off. Don't talk shit. What has been said is that the game will be remember for these cards instead of the actual test....... And it has.

@rooy,

"I don't believe I have a reputation on this board as a ref-basher but I didn't think the Springboks deserved to lose that game and Romain Poitre played too big a part in the result of the game for my liking."
i concur, ur one of the few saffas here who dosent play the ref card, so when u say poite played too big a part in the game, i couldnt agree more and unlike most of ur countrymen with their broken record cries on the referee, its just not possible to take them at their objective word.

i dont agree that the Boks didnt deserve to lose though, mindless kicking is all i saw from the Boks yesterday and the kicks werent even good, even nonu kicked better then their kickers, o_O

"I would have been annoyed enough if Bismarck had served 10 minutes in the bin for the second yellow which to me was possibly a bit clumsy but not malicious and a perfectly legitimate attempt at a fend, but the first yellow against Biz was just plain wrong."
the vast majority are saying the first yellow wasnt right, that was plain wrong period and poite needs to hang his head in shame.
the second yellow i agree was warranted when looking at the whole situation. bizzy did raise his arm and it made contact with messams neck/throat, and messam obviously felt it too considering the situation.
but the touchie getting involved is what sealed bizzys fate. once he brought it to the refs attention and the ref asked for the replay, it was never going to end well especially as they only played it slow motion instead of normal speed which. the difference bewteen the two speeds IMO shows it was clearly reckless without intent.

there would have been justice of sorts if poite had just penalised the Boks/bizzy for that forearm and nothing else, cos i got no probs with the 2nd yellow, and its a shame to see the 1st yellow play a bigger role then it should have.

"What really pisses me off was Poitre's response when Jean asked him why he had penalized the tackle and Poitre replied that it was high, late and he didn't use his arms. That was zero out of three for Poitre as far as I'm concerned."
i reckon poite will be feeling quite the goose today, i can recall a number of games hes reffed in the past and like all refs, theres a level of human error, but yesterday must surely go down as his worst performance in his career.

"There was only one incident in the game that was even remotely worthy of a red card and that was Ma'a Nonu's cynical, late and armless hit on Jean de Villiers."
i kind of saw nonus tackle on JDV as nonu lining up JDV for a tackle, but then pulling out of it after JDV passed the ball but it was all too late.
when u watch it again in normal speed, theres an argument there to be made, but nonu has a history and that cnat be ignored either, so with all those factors involved, ur argument has more legs to stand on then mine.

"Very disappointing result to a game that I was very excited for"
cheer up bro, im sure ellis park will be a much better officiated affair, but dont let the referee hide the fact that Boks played some pretty poor rugby, 10 man rugby can work, but not if executed poorly like how the Boks did.

SA rugby surfaces and nigel owens whose scheduled to ref should make it a much better game 2.

Beens, the ABs first try was the same as the first Boks try against the Wobblies - when the shoe is on the other foot!

and Bismarck does have a history of eye gouging and dirty play

Hi Wardad: They have got to get this dirty stuff out of the game. The officials have to pick the right case but once they are  convinced they should really come  down hard. Else we will see this escalating & players will be crippled or worse.

I wonder if meyer's media approach of saying we will take an ugly win set the trend for the disaster. You never know, the seed may have been planted. For me, the test should never be approached with those words for the world to hear.

It doesn't change the shocking out come though

@ Sasuke, How do you know what the outcome of the match was going to be regardless of Du Plessis' red card. I have been looking @ your comments and you keep saying the ABs were going to win the match any way. What makes you so sure about that?

Yes welcome 101 as you can see we are having a hard time of it convincing some kiwi bird brains the ref got it wrong.

Ntanga ou saSUE  is sure as he knows the refs will do what's needed. Bwahahahahahahahha

Hahahahakwa thanks for the illustrations and admitting the ref got the first try wrong. That makes the abs winning at home by 7 points when playing against a Bok side who only had 14 men for 50 minutes.

Ouch!!!

@ntanga,

i dont know for sure, but there is very little that seperates this Bok team and the ones we spanked last year in the RC/4nats.

when i say very little that seperates them, i dont mean team itslef, i mean team dynamics.

the fact is what ball the Boks had yesterady was suqandered away with pointless kicks that did sweet fudge all, which was very sowetto like.
when u play that style of rugby for over 70mins of the game, regardless of the variables everywhere else, the probabilty is ur going to lose, hence me countering any arguments about bizzys presnece making the difference.

reality is i dont know, but thats a two way street, cos having bizzy on the field for the whole 80mins dosent mean the Boks would have won either which is by large what the masses are insinuating.
IMO bizzys presence wouldnt have changed the useless kicking of the ball away which is their default tactic whenever they go up against the All Blacks???

Not sure if you're afraid of gettng your arse kicked but if that's not the reason then the league is called Sarugby.com and the code is 3389-2278.

Well, well, well … ain’t that a kick in the head. Must say I didn’t see that coming.

The New Zealanders on this board are actually celebrating the “win” … as though they deserved it.

Unbelievable!!

I somehow expected more from them. Turns out they’re the same as the Poms and the Ozzies. Keen and eager to take the win … no matter how it was attained … I see they now have a crystal ball too … capable of actually seeing what the end result would have been in a fair contest.

Astounding!! I guess they're not the honourable people I thought they were. How dissapointing.

I always figured them to be like us … tough, physical … capable of dishing it out, as well as taking it.  A crunch tackle on Carter and the whole stadium boos Bismarck. Why????? Turns out they’re soft … can’t even appreciate a quality tackle like that … prone to crying when things get a little rough and turning a blind eye to their own foul play.

I wonder if rugby is suited to them. Perhaps they should consider taking something less physical up as a national sport. Say like flower arrangment!!!

And then to add to my dissapointment ... I expected the All Black captain, to at least show All Black character and acknowledge that the match was tarnished by incompetent refereeing … that there was no fair contest and that the victory was an empty one because of it … but I guess he was too busy high fiving his team mates and celebrating the “win” with big booming smiles.

The way that arse carried on one would have thought they’d put 50 on us ... and that in a fair contest of 15 on 15.

You guys must be so proud.
