Mike

I believe Pieter is almost fully recovered by now. The Medical Staff have to asess his recovery again to determine where he is in terms of physical fitness.

Hope he gets back soon. Fantastic player, and even better person.

Tomas, I'm guessing you played against Pieter-Steph at U21 level. If so, was he playing as a lock or a flanker?

Also, have you played any of your rugby as a loose forward or have you stuck to lock?

Rooinek

I know PS from my trips to SA, we've played together and against each other several times. Back then he was operating as an utility forward, just like myself.

I have established myself as a lock now, but not long ago I was used as a blindside flank in my team. Somewhat similar to what Coetzee began doing with Rynhardt Elstadt (a big flank focused on cleaning out rucks and short range carrying). Back then I was smaller --196 cm and around the 113 kg mark. However, in the last semester I've bulked up quite a bit (last time I was weighed I tipped the scale at 119 kg), which has obviously reduced some of my mobility.

The Medical Staff say that if I maintain my discipline, I'll end up somewhere around the 203 cm and 123 kg mark. Need to keep scorfing down those asados! :)

@olecruz,

6ft 8inc and 123kgs??? im sure dave rennie will be very pelased to see u making good heasdway for that enforcers role he wnats u to fill, :o)

i think a good full season with the chiefs will help out big time with the mobility factor though, and im wondering have u done the yoyo test with either the chiefs or anyone and if so, how do u hold up???

and congrats on maing the pumas squad and getting ur first test cap, quite an achievement, :o)

Sasue At last the Chiefs will have a good lock - not the very average ones they had this year. LOL My first choice lock for next years Super 15 Foxsport competition. Nice one - cheap as well. LOL
