  1. Rassie's up and under game plan was exposed by the Lions who selected players excellent in the air.
  2. When the Lions ran the ball instead of kicking, the Boks gave away penalties at the rucks. (8 in the 2nd half).
  3. The Lions used their backline more on phase play attack- and it looked more dangerous playing wide, with good passers.
  4. Lineouts - The Boks barely competed in the lineouts on Lions throws. Having Courtney Laws, a former lock at blindside flank worked well.
  5. Scrums were equal
  6. Lions rolling mauls were better than the Boks.
  7. The Lions dominated the breakdown in the 2nd half winning lots of penalties.
  8. Kolbe was closed down with the few chances he got.
  9. The Springbok defense is looking more creaky than usual. This may be down to more missed tackles rather than the system.

It is not clear how much the Boks can improve in one week, and there are not that many players to bring in to offset the missing Vermuelen .

You could equally ask do the Lions have a plan B as it could have gone either way.

It's not about a plan a or b, it's about having the right approach, installing it and then executing it. The gameplan was a mess. It's been a mess for a very long time.

The better question is does the Great Erasmus complex have a Plan A.

Gatland's selections and game plan show he created a system to combat the same Boks plan A which won the world cup and took the Boks to #1 in the IRB rankings.
Wales were close to beating the Boks in the semi-final under Gatland- but were not as strong as the B&I Lions in doing so.

Well, Beeno if plan A is working, why use plan B.
When plan A is not working, it is clear if the re is a B plan.
