The last 5 or so years it seemed the action was up north. Super Rugby effectively ended without South African teams. France and Ireland were regularly beating the SH teams in the YE tours.

NH rugby finally seemed more than a place for SH players to feather their nests.

Come the WC. Scotland was never going to beat the Boks, but there was no tension in that match beyond the half. Then Libbok kicks Ireland to victory, only for them to be handily beaten by a poorly coached AB team.

On the other side of the draw France had the match but showed no bottle….and the ragged Poms were leading to the last five, before being dispatched. But that’s the problem, they were both dispatched.

The result another WC final with no NH representation. Context, there has never been a final with no SH representation

So who cares if the Potato’s beat the Frogs. Right now it all seems so irrelevant until Razor’s 15 not 14 men take on the Boks.

It’s not diminished in terms of a spectacle it’s always great to watch the top teams take on each other Test match rugby is always a great thing to watch I love it Difference being that the WC and the mighty Boks under the mighty Rassie was huge and the shine of the 6N is slightly dimmed by the enormity of a WC It will still be great to watch, I just think the outcome will be overshadowed by the WC - particularly a WC that was so exciting with the Boks winning by 1 three games in a row

It’s not diminished in the slightest. I prefer the 6 Nations to the RWC.

I don’t think anyone can understand the concept and history of the competition unless they are from these shores.

Does owning a property count, even if I spent more time at White Hart Lane than Twickenham. This competition feels so Everton vs Watford.

There is nothing like a RWC.

There is nothing like your team winning a Rugby World Cup.

Maybe Rugby in general has gone down in popularity….everything is different since this Covid Crap…but The Six Nation has been around for Ages already…so the interest will always be there….SN and RWC is two different Comps and not comparable…Becs you are as much a Rugby Follower as anyone else on here : )

A blue point oyster washed down with a little Dom Perignon sets you up nicely for your meal. I’d follow with a small 8 oz steak, perhaps a Wagyu done medium rare and for dessert perhaps Panna cotta. Then expresso with some dark chocolate.

Skip the first and last and I’m with you except for the steak being small or medium/rare. No pink for me - medium does it

The 6 nations and Lions tour is the single reason why would never see a proper world champs. The 6 nations has been great in some years and others not so much.

Agree with Dave, it is test rugby and always worth watching. I just think the time of year it is played at isn't great.

I still hold firm that Club and Test rugby should not overlap. It was proven in World Cup years that when there is a proper test window, teams get a chance to compete properly, but because of this window, teams arrive tired at in June + July.

I've said it a few times, we should follow the NFL and Japan top league system of 5 months club rugby.

Adding European championships and various trophies and more fixtures just ruin the game.

Well the 6 Nations does allow one of the teams to win a trophy each year and bragging rites if nothing else.

I enjoy watching the 6 Nations though.

Dark choclate with fruit and nuts is without doubt the winner.
