Venter is a far better coach than Alistair and one wonders if this is a repeat of the Japanese game looming. I still will be surprised if the Bok lose but was very surprised when we lost to Japan.

Cape Town - Last month, Brendan Venter was heading up the South African rugby coaching Indaba in Cape Town.

The purpose of that two-day meeting, which included top coaches, administrators and referees from around the country, was to discuss coaching methods and techniques that would ultimately benefit the Springboks.

Soon after facilitating those discussions, Venter was off to Italy and he will now be helping them prepare for the Boks in Florence on Saturday.

Venter, who was capped 17 times by the Springboks between 1994 and 1999, has been appointed as a technical adviser for the Italians for their end-of-year Tests.

Venter comes with a wealth of experience, having previously coaches at Saracens and the Sharks.

He is also the current technical director at London Irish in England.

Despite having a woeful 2016 so far, the Boks are overwhelming favourites to beat Italy on Saturday.

Still, the fact that Venter, who has worked closely with Coetzee very recently, is now in the opposition camp may be of some concern.

Venter will know how to counter the rubbish expected from Coetzee.

It's still hard to bet against Boks but such is the state of affairs that what once seemed impossible might just happen.

Interesting that he turned down the Sharks coaching job due to commitments in "Capetown". I suspect Venter is an average coach at best- and prefers to chair meetings.
This is certainly a conflict of interest- however, it was probably deemed fine due to Italy being no threat. Although this could be another surprise result.
(Anyway, what he could he learn from Alister that he does not see each week in Super Rugby by Coetzee and the likes of Gary Gold.
Everyone knows it is crash ball or aimless kick - except for the occasional counter-attack.

 Mozart
I never predicted an Italy win - I just predict that Coetzee's absent and imaginary game plan  can be exposed.
I hope that Goosen will be the flyhalf.   H e will just ignore the BS of Coetzee and play a thinking game.   That should make a difference.

Nope you said "Venter will know how to counter the rubbish expected from Coetzee".....a clear cut call that Italy would leave Coetzee's plans in tatters. If thats not the case please apologize, restate and furnish us with your prediction.

Your misrepresentation as to what I have written is as per normal total BS.   I will give a forecast once I have seen the team to be fielded.

It would most certainly be a good day if the Italians beat the Goats. I for one will be cheering them on all the way.
I suppose we can expect wholesale changes to Alice's Goats.
Probably a new centre pair with a change at 9 and 10.
I wonder if the "egg laying" genius will be slotted in at 6 again? You know ... for "counter rucking" purposes.
LOL!!!!!!!!

I'll be cheering for Italian this weekend. Hurts to betray the players but a loss will strengthen the case for Coetzee to step down, and that is priority number one.

I do not really think that Brendan will be very successful in giving the Italians sufficient courage.
I think the Bok players will lift themselves with or without the help of Coetzee - they will want to prove something and may be successful in doing just that.
Bokke to win by at least 20 points!

Well if you are going to give a forecast, you are going to have to retract your forecast made above.....or at least give us some cogent explanation of what Venter countering "the rubbish from Coetzee" means. Or does he counter all the rubbish and still lose....hahaha? You are a funny guy Tokkie.

What forecast did I make above?  I never gave a score that indicates the Boks will lose.  It happened a couple of times - like the second Irish test in June - that players discarded the imaginary and stupid game plan of Coetzee and started to play their own game and won the test.
Even though they lost the test it even happened again on Saturday when Goosen came on and stopped the Coetzee idiocy and scored a try and assisted with one - the first such occurrence in 321 minutes of rugby played
It could happen again and that could save he day for the Springboks against Italy.   Mozart - with respect - you are always in favour of playing of Jake-ball and not rugby - so it is impossible  to discuss anything remotely connected to a rugby game plan with you.

It 'could happen again.....it could save the day' So Tokkie you are saying if we play with Goosen, if we reject the starting match tactics, we may beat Italy. If not we will lose.Totally consistent with your statement that Venter will counter the "rubbish from Coetzee". Lets be clear you have strongly intimated we are going to lose to Italy.....if not just make a clear prediction we are goung to beat Italy, and admit you were just being hysterical again. In other words take the foot out of your own mouth. Or live with a prediction that Italy will win. Your choice,

 Look Mozart
I have no confidence in the team selected by Coetzee as well as in his game plan (if any) and what happened last year in the Japan test could happen again tomorrow.
There are too many problems with that team   the rubbish at loosie - especially Alberts and Carr - while Paige is poor as well,   And the bench is made up of forwards (bar Kitshof) who should never be anywhere near a Springbok team.
I think the Springboks could win - but it is going to be a tight affair and I would in fact not be surprised if they lose.   If Meyer's over-the hill, useless lot - the most experienced ever to represent the Springboks - could lose against Japan than anything is possible.

anyone demanding others to predict the result of the boks' game (or any other game) should before do the prediction himself,.... why don't you enlighten us with your rugby knowledge, eh mozart?

you can also predict the rest of the games,... Ireland-AB and France-A ustralia

You are confused, I don't demand others make predictions. I would prefer poor predictors like Mike, Cleancut and Rooiurinal would stop predicting. But in this case Mike is clearly making a prediction, although he is trying to leave himself an out....I am simply clarifying what he is actually saying as he tends to slime out of things. But who asked you Mong?

Can you read English.   Read it and you would find that I said the Sprigboks will win - but a tight game is expected,
I can understand now why you are always way out with match descriptions too.

So the Springboks win-but a tight game = Venter will counter the rubbish from Coetzee = I wouldnt be surprised if they lose = It could happen again and that could (not would) save the day for the Springboks. Talkee, talkee, talkee double talk!!

What talk?   The fact that Eddie Jones last year in the famous Japan test knew what Meyer and his geriatric team would produce and countered it effectively.  Problem then was Matfield was so poor - he even countered the Meyer game plan and did help Jones massively.
Effectively the problem is that both Meyer and Coetzee had no real game plan and ended up with the same BS results.
Do you really think Venter does not know what to expect from the seriously defective approach of Coetzee and would not make use of it when it comes to the game tomorrow?  That is what is worrying me about the game tomorrow.

Dr Brendon Venter has more rugby acumen in his big toe than Alistair has in his head. Like Eddie Jones with japan he plotted the downfall of this woeful Bok side.Remember the wee abs slaughtered these Italians with their mid-week team. Our best coaches like Rassie, Mallet, Jake and Venter don't coach in South Africa!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year - Japan - where Eddie Jones dealt with the Meyer style and won.   This year - Italy -  where Venter knew exactly what to expect from the Springboks and contrubted to the loss.
Both Meyer and Coetzee had no game plan and the Springboks were so poorly coached that they lost against Japan and Italy.   How low can they go?
