Hey Guys,

I just wanted to share with everyone that the group from Fantasy XV Draft are bringing a brand new Draft Super Rugby platform for 2019 at draftrugby.com . The last few years we have run a blog and podcast under the old 'Fantasy Xv Draft' title, but this year we are offering so much more!

Check out our blog post on  how the site works :

Let us know your thoughts on what you'd like to see from our new Fantasy Rugby platform so that we can try and make it happen!

Our draft platform has three main defining features:

1. Draft style rather than Fantasy - Sign up to your league’s Draft to compete with your friends to sign the best players. Each player can only be signed by 1 manager. Only 1 Mckenzie, Folau, Marx and Retallick! Who will you choose?

2. 8 man leagues - 8 man Leagues, NOT a total points free for all with all the same players! We focus all our efforts on a platform that promotes rivalry between mates. Who deserves bragging rights as the Champion? Who is your Wooden Spooner? How will they be rewarded or punished for their efforts?

3. Head to Head Matchups - Forge Rivalries between mates, Draft Rugby pits mate against mate in a head to head competition each week. Throw banter at your competition, thrive in defeating your mate even it’s your first win in an 18 week season. Find unique ways to brag about your victory.

Looking forward to 2019!

Sounds great. I'll be in.
Fantas y Football did a draft last year and the actual draft was a lot of fun. I assume you also have a "live" draft where you get a certain amount of time to pick your player?
PS Your link doesn't work.

I think this may be a rugby fantasy comp run by an Australian support group - namely Green and Gold Rug by.   The name of the member registered with this site was Lee Grant and the correspondence on the issue was in 2016

I can vaguely remember the name Dale being involved in that one.   Maybe you can check back and see what 2016 produces as to that one.

Thanks for that Rooinek, I've updated the links so they should work now.

Yes we will have a live draft option as well, we also plan on having an option for the admin to just enter the draft picks for those that want to do an offline draft and then just enter their data.

The main difference between our platform and any other draft platform is that we have a full starting team of 15 players, with 1 sub per position. We have played the format ourselves since 2012 and there are always enough free agents that there will be plenty of trade and free agent movement if people know their stuff.

Clevermike love the research :p I actually have nothing to do with Green and Gold and this is our first Fantasy Rugby platform. My brother has written an article or two through green and gold a few years back before we created our own blog with more consistent content, so maybe that is where you heard the name. PS my last name is Dale, not the first.

Thanks Harry, The link works fine now. The only question I still have that isn't clear in your rules is how the draft works. The way I've played drafts in the past is that whoever picks last in the first round then picks first in the next round to even things up. Does yours work the same way?
PS Who voted Harry as a spammer? Please be careful not to vote genuine rugby postings and only vote for obvious spammers.

I've never played a draft fantasy game,.... I prefer the classic fantasy game,... but it's probably time to have a go with these drafts

one of the problems that I see in these drafts is that there's always people who quits the game at the middle of the season,... in the classic fantasy games that's completely irrelevant for the rest of the players,... but in a league of 8 players if a couple of them quit,... the whole league is almost doomed,... so we need to have a group (or more if possible) of 8 players committed to play the whole season,...

@rooi,

I read in their site:

"LIVE DRAFT your fantasy rugby teams via snake draft"

snake draft is what you are saying,... "that whoever picks last in the first round then picks first in the next round to even things up",...

but even with this snake draft (that even things up), the draft order is crucial to define each fantasy player's team,... how is this order established? by pure draw? or is there any other method?

and another question,... as I can understand the table of each league is made up using the points obtained by each fantasy-player in the head-to-head (which are more influenced by the pure luck) instead of the total points obtained by each fantasy-player each round,... I would suggest to have both tables,... IMO the latter reflects better the ability of each fantasy player (less influenced by pure luck)
