How good has this lad been for the Bulls at 13 this year......what a player he is.......2 tries yesterday, great step, but boy does he run good lines.....had his team mates been more aware of those lines, he would have scored a few more. There is a Conrad Smith about him, is in the right place at the right time......good rugby brain.
Have always rated this guy - useless Ludeke missed the boat with him.
Jan Serfontein's centre partner at Grey Bloem, SA schools and Baby Boks
Odendaal at 12 has been great as well as is Ulengo on the wing.......along with Hougaard at 9, Jacques du Plessis at lock......hell the whole side is playing with structure and freedom......something we never saw under useless Ludeke.....another Meyer clone.

The main problem was not only Ludeke, but ls Matfield who was supposed to be the Bulls attack coach.  Matfield used that position to undermine Rossouw by telling Ludeke stories about what is said in the changeroom.
The Bulls backline malfunctioned totally with those two around.  Pollard turned into a Morne Steyn clone and Serfontein into a crashballer - no other format was allowed.  The Bulls also suffer under a totally-inadequate captain, be it Spies or Matfield.
The whole scenario changed with a change in captaincy and a totally adjusted game plan.  WP was torn apart and so were the other teams the Bulls faced thus far.   The only other team that shows much thus far this year was the Lions - the rest was going backwards in performance.
I think under a new and more up to date playing style the Bulls will improve beyond recognition.   They have shown massive development thus far this CC season and Serfontein in a new playing environment will showcase his natural talent.
I like  heck-of-lot about what I saw of Swanepoel during the last two matches - he somehow reminds me of Milner-Skudder of the AB's.   I wrote elsewhere that the Bulls will have a top backline with a surfeit of good centers.  If the Springboks come back I would pick the following backline for the Bulls for Super 15 next year and give them the right to play with the intesity they showed thus far this year in CC:-
9 Hougaard, 10 Pollard, 11 Ulengo, 12 Serfontein, 13 Swanepoel, 14 Engelbrecht, 15 Kriel - with 21  Paige, 22 Schoeman and 23 Odendaal.
I m really sorry for Dan Kriel and William Small-Smith.  They should try and get contracts with the Stormers where quality backline players are sorely needed.

Well said. The bulle have very good backline talent now. What a huge pity Willemse and Jaque Du Plessis will not be available. Name their pack for next year. Front row fine. Locks? Loosies? Good enough?

Have you seen any of the CC Matches thus far this year?   If not it is better to shut up - otherwise you may found yourself embarrassed like you are bound to be with your support of the useless players bound to embarrass us  in the RWC.
You are the only person who forms an opinion on a player you have never seen playing - so one can only laugh at your comments.  Why don't you contact your hero Matfield and ask him how he and his bum-buddy Ludeke manage to destroy so comprehensively a perfectly good backline.
Also ask him to explain to you how the present team was transformed to a real top performing team with the appointment of a thinking captain who leads the team by example, a thing him and Spies failed in badly.
You must have at least heard of the way the Bulls destroyed WP last week - so that is just part of the story.

You seem a little angry Perv..if and when this kid plays S15 I will tell you what his prospects are with my usual unerring accuracy. In the meantime it's a big world of sports out there and the CC without the Boks if of zero interest. Comprende you old queen?

What is your opinion on Dries Moz?
Hopefully these new centers coming up will light a fire under Serfontein so he performs up to (and beyond) his 2012/2013 standards. In fact I'd advise not to be afraid to drop him from the matchday squad if needs be, worked for Hougaard who is a new player now.

 No Mozart
It is comparative - the Bulls have not beaten WP since 2012 in any format of the game.  That was while Ludeke was the coach and Matfield was the attack coach.  You will be embarrassing yourself even further by your latest remark.   The fact is that Matfield caused the destruction of the team while he was supposedly the attack coach of the Bulls and also the captain at times.  He was an embarrassment in both positions.
Labuschagne made a huge difference to the team when he was appointed as captain. With Matfield around the players were demoralized and went through the action without any degree of enthusiasm.  They are now doing their job with enthusiasm and it is obvious they enjoy what they are doing with a captain leading by example.  Four wins and four times they won with bonus points through scoring of tries - a total transformation which will carry through to Super Rugby.
Problem is - most of the Boks - especially those you support - are more of an handicap to teams than an asset.   There are some that will make a difference - but they are too few to make a massive difference.   The useless like Matfield. Alberts, and most of the geriatrics will make no difference to the teams - their absence will add value to team performance, since it will allow for better players to show what they are capable of.

Dries is looking very good as is that platinum haired flyhalf. Ulenga is also showing promise. However the Super 15 will tell us more.

His name is Tia n Schoeman - the platinum hair one = would be a good buy by WP if they could get him.  However, i somehow do not think that the Bulls will let him go.

Now seen this game. All the centres looked decent including Swart. I like Swanepoel, he has a nice  step, runs good lines and handles well. To me he looks a bit more like a 12 though. I agree with Dave's take that he is a heady player, but I'm not sure he has the weapons to hurt test defences. At the end of the day my guess would be that he'll top out at S15 level.

Mozart
You have now seen Swanepoel in one game - and then came up with two issues - he is "more like a 12" and "he will top out at Super 15 level".
Your assessment of players have always been BS and that is always clear when the chips are down.   Just one question - since school level through the age groups level after school and now Swanepoel has never played at 12 always at 13, have all coaches been wrong and only you right in this case?
It must be borne in mind that Swanepoel is too young to be rated by Mozart.  Anyone below 30 - with very rare exceptions - are condemned by him even without him seeing them play.   After seeing the game - he had to start waffling and then make reservations about Swanepoel.   Typical Mozart - but he often gets embarrassed by the players he supports and then the real waffling starts to create fiction about the failed player(s) performance.

There is absolutely no reason he can't make it at test level if Conrad Smith did....looks a similar player to me...has a good rugby brain on him. Had his team mates been more aware he would have scored at least 2 other tries on the strength of the great lines he took.
At 97 kg he is also physically up to the task. We don't need him at 12, we need 13's and he looks like a gem

Must agree, Dave.

The Bulls are a completely different team.

Amazing what a few good selections can do. Giving a young nobody like this a shot and suddenly we're looking at something special.

He's made a massif difference.

Great to see.

Time will tell....but as we know from Step, Jordaan and JJ on the negative side.....and Kriel on the positive side.....I tend to get these things right. This is a very, very low standard of rugby. The Bools aren't suddenly the Chiefs, they are playing Griquas.

You have got nothing right when it comes to Serfontein for he was our best test centre last year playing out of position and has only just come back from an injury.
His non selection in the WC squad has nothing to do with his credentials and everything to do with useless Meyers blind obsession with past it Jean as his captain....a decision that will cost him the world cup along with the inclusion  of his vice old Vic.
Same can be said of his pathetic treatment of JJ after his fantastic performance against NZ. Your mate Meyer is no measure given his disgraceful current record.
Jordaan has yet to be tested...but am with you on him he is too small for centre but would make a good test wing.

You get anything right ever - that is the joke of the year.  Your support of duds like Alberts is legendary and same with Fat Fransie and Morne Steyn.  You are more known for talking crap than anything else.   What a joke.

Serfontein, for a young centre is toothless....JJ is feeble....Jordaan is feeble. The facts are there for all to see .....Dave you and the Perv  wont let go.  But at least in your case it's just a rugby aberration.

Have a nice one.

I see through your behaviour as well - Moffie.  I never used that expression to identify you by those who have found you out years ago and even objected to the usage of the word in your case  - but I am afraid you are accusing me of something you yourself are guilty of.
So - good luck to you Moffie and find entertainment on the websites catering for your specific needs.
