The guy is bloody useless. He has always been picked on the strength of his kicking and that has gone to pot. Thought his rating of 4.5 was generous on here. His option taking was poor, he seems to have lost his kicking mojo and now thinks he can run with ball in hand, messing up attacking opportunities by taking the ball up instead of spreading it. The guy is the weak link bin him.

What a strange test. We completely dominated the Poms in the first half, the power play was huge and our desire to attack was great. We then took the foot off the gas, lost respect for the Poms and paid the price. Those 2 soft tries conceded were poor - the line-out botch up and quick take by Youngs for Floods try. That was 14 points conceded in a blink.

Disagree with Moz's take on our scrums, we dominated this area until we subbed Bismark and Jannie.

JP was huge as was Spies, great to see them at their best. I thought everyone was good today except for Morne. Drop him

Saffex

I will not be as hard on him as you are.   Yes - he is in the team because of his kicking ability - but he is not a natural ball player.   That is where he messes up at times.   I think that he will be dropped from the team in the 4 Nations - when Goosen is back in contention.

I am not sure about how Jantjies will perform in the test - should he be selected.   He could turn out as bad as his brother did in the Junior team against Ireland - you never know whether he would be up to standard on international lev el - or whether he would become the Earl Rose of the past.   That is why i beleive Meyer is goin to give Jantjies a chance in the next test - he better take the chance with both hands - if he buggers up - he will be out of the cold - with players like Goosen and even Pollard around.

If morne is not kicking well at practise this week give the kicking duties to Lambie. Yes a gamble could be taken on Elton but he is prone to mistakes and nobody knows how he will go with even more pressure.

As for the scrumming what was different to las Saturday. Well the real answer was Coenie subbing Beast. Beast is not fit enough to play 80. Coenie Stauss and Jannie kept our momentum going. We need a loosehead reserve? Jannie will have to play 80.

Oh sure.....let's select Jantjies because, by luck, one of his chip kicks was regathered in the match against the Sharks.  Here are his stats for the last 5 games runs/metres and tackles made/ tackles missed.

Sharks.......2/0.......11/3

Force....... 4/4......5/1

Reds......5/23.....5/4

Blues....6/7......8/1

Chiefs ....8/32......2/4

So for the advantage of getting a "running flyhalf" who makes all of 2.6 metres a carry.......we get a sieve who makes only 70% of his tackles. Lets see what does that sound like? Could it be the failed Quade Cooper experiment.....one that Sapp bought hook , line and sinker.

Mozart

The stats provided by you are a horror story.   You may have seen what I wrote about Jantjies - he may be a later vesion of Earl Rose - so I was doubrtful about him.   I believe that it would be better to let him start this coming test and if he fails replace him with Steyn.   If Steyn continues to flop in the test - give the kicking duties to Pienaar.

I think Morne will sort his kicking. But if he doesn't he may need to be replaced. I'd go for Lambie though, while we are all really waiting for Goosen. Lambie wont miss his tackles or do stupid things.

Yes get Jantjies in. I dont give a toss how many metres he runs, the kid is a class act and one only needs to watch him to realise that. He is not going to gain many metres in a side that is getting thumped every week. Meyer needs to be bold and give the hopelessly inadequate Morne the boot - he adds no value to the side at all, quite the opposite, he is a liability.

He suddenly fancies himself as a running flyhalf, one that botches things up and dies with the ball, when all he needed to do was pass.

Jantjies has such a great feel and touch for the game, get this kid in there, he only needs to take the field to be an improvement on that ponderous plodder. Man what do people see in this useless player? The Poms love the fact we keep selecting this guy, it keeps them in contention

could not agree more

to be honest morne's days are numbered. with the amount of talent we have at number 10 i doubt morne will feature much longer. goosen, lambie, handre pollard ext etx...jantjies is also decent but has the amazing abilty to be either brilliant in one instance and utter rubbish the next. much like his mentor at he lions king carlos.

goosen is the next dan carter....no doubt about that, has all the aspects of the game covered and yet he is so young. for once we can have flyhalf that is not just one track minded and can think and play the situation. i hope he gets picked when he hsa recovered for the 4 nations. for now we are stuck with morne because he bring experience but in the next 2 years goosen will be a world class performer. just hope he does not get signed to the bulls or stormers because they tend to butcher backline talent

old morne turnstyle steyn must reinvent himself if he wants the jumper
