Du Plessis ruled out for the Super Rugby season Bulls loose forward Jacques du Plessis will not play Super Rugby again this season
Bulls loose forward Jacques du Plessis has been ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season due to injury.

Du Plessis suffered a broken jaw playing for the Bulls in their 13-34 victory over Namibia in a Super Rugby warm up on Saturday.

Du Plessis has had surgery on the broken jaw which he suffered in an 11th minute tackle by Namibian No.8 Ronaldo Bothma.

The Bulls will sit out of Super Rugby for another week while the Australian and New Zealand teams play each other this weekend.

The Pretoria Super Rugby franchise return to Super Rugby next week when they face the Stormers in Cape Town and then finish the season at home in Pretoria against the Rebels.

The Bulls have an outside chance of reaching the play offs but they will need to win both of their remaining matches - preferably with bonus points - and hope that other teams lose their remaning matches.

Saffex would replace HM with Saffex. No player would get more than 10 caps before they were considered a washed up hasbeen. A squad of 30 players would include over 100 people to keep all the young players in the country- not sure how their salaries would be paid.

HM is not indispensible. Jake, Mallet, Venter and Rassie are all very good coaches. Why the ques tion Bobbok?

Du Plessis is just the next incarnation of Danie Rossouw, Jacque Cronje and Potgieter......not really a flank, not really a lock....dumb muscle.

Mozzie never fear the Bulls still have that great captain and fearless lock to force them into the final.
You know the guy...... Victor (Stringbean) Misfield.
If you consider Du Plessis as just a dumb muscle you have more issues than just rugby savvy.

Now, now Dr Moz you shouldn't be commenting on locks it's not your forte.
Du Plessis is one year out of the under 20 ranks and has made waves in the Super 15 comp as a forward. This 20 year old is 119 kg, 2.01 meters, very mobile for such a big man and works hard for 80 minutes.
Great young talent and already international class. Much prefer him to Alberts. It's the work rate and productivity that is so good.
In May 2014, Du Plessis was one of eight uncapped players that were called up to a Springbok training camp prior to the 2014 mid-year rugby union tests

Meyer has his eye on him and it's not just because he is a bulle. He is certain to be a Bok.

Moz knows very little when it comes to players.......du Plessis is an awesome talent that should be playing lock given he has always played there, stands 2.01m and weighs 120kg.........far, far better option that washed up hasbeens Matfield and Bakkies

Blob - I'd replace HM with a Kiwi coach, Mallett, Jake, Rassie or Venter.......in a nutshell anyone

Mallet has achieved nothing. Yes, I know the winning streak and all and all and all, but after his winning streak his stint turned into shit and he ended up with a very average winning ratio.

I have always admired Jake for what he achieved as national coach, but he will never see the Bok team as a coach again. What is more. Since 2007 he has changed into an egotistical nugget who chases his own interests first. He does not give a shit for the national side or his players. He would rather run him into ground in search of a S15 title, which is not going to happen, so that he can have that on his CV for his next application for an international coach of  maybe Croatia, Kenya, Zimbabwe or some other third tier country.

Rassie has achieved nothing as a coach. He is brilliant at other aspects and is probably in the best possible position where he is at the moment.

Brendan Venter is probably the only one who could be considered but how long would he last before he tells SARU and everybody else to fuck off. That is if he doesn't get fired first for telling them to fuck off.

Which Kiwi coach would be prepared to  coach in a situation where he does not have free reign to select who he wants? Let me save you the time searching. There is not a single one who would be prepared to do so. He might probably apply and get the job because of SARU telling him that he will have free reign but how long will that last?

Mallett has a better test record than Jake - so bang goes your theory, he turned Italian rugby around so bang goes your theory.

Jake would be far better than Meyer and there is no reason in the world not to select him.

Given how shit Meyer is, give me Rassie's rugby brain anyday

I'd rather have Venter telling SARU to fuck off that have that useless conservative twat coaching our side.

Any of the Kiwi coaches, coaching a S15 side and would like the step up to test level

So I'll say it again, anyone other than clue less Meyer

Mozzie,          Thanks for showing us your true you.
Stick to what you Americans are good at:

Waiving your flag and voting in a retard for President.
You fit in their with those chumps.
So stick to your USA sports and leave rugby to those who understand and have played the game.
Thanks and hope the GP you are referring to can help you.............

Jake has won a RWC. Mallett fucked one up. As I said, the moment he lost his first test, he was on a slip next to none. It was his winning streak that saved him some face in a way. Eventually SARU used a crap excuse just to get rid of him because of his kak record.

Mallett did anything but turn Italian rugby around. He has one of the worst records as an Italian coach. On a 19% win ratio, he was only better than Macioletti who was the coached for three months in '99. The other one who had a worse record than him was Brad Johnstone with a 15.4% win ratio. They fired him despite him expressing his clear wish to stay on for another term.

What exactly has Rassie achieved as a coach? He was always riding on his win in the CC final at Loftus which was won in the dying moments because of a fuck-up between Johan Roux and  FDP, which saw Meyer Bosman score. His claim  to fame for that game, though, was that he caught the Blue Bulls with a clever tactical move when he loaded his bench with only forwards and took  on the Blue Bulls up front. It worked but it is one of those things that doesn't come  off very often. That is his forte. He can sit down  and plan a specific game with what he has, but coach and develop players? No ways. His key players were always players that were poached from others. He poached amongst others Duane Vermeulen, for the Cheetahs, from  the Pumas and Tiaan Liebenberg from Griquas. When he dropped the Cheetahs, like a bad habit, forthe Stormers, he took Vermeuelen and Liebenberg with him.

As I said, Venter won't last a year as Bok coach. What is the use of appointing him?

Which of the kiwi coaches would be able to put up with the internal shit surrounding SA rugby? Not a single one. That goes for any international coach with hopes of coaching the Boks.

Vlagshit, a WC is not the measure you stupid Dutchman, overall record is - Mallett has a better record than Jake - idiot.....if Mallett's record was poor what do you say of Jake's in the year leading up to the WC - huh, answer that one you ignorant prick?

As for Italy, they are never going to have a positive win record, it is widely acknowledged that Mallett turned their fortunes and you are lying about him wanting to stay on.

As for Rassie, by all accounts the best rugby brain in the business......I don't care what he has achieved as a coach, that's not the point.......my point was that Meyer is useless and I'd rather have Rassie as the coach.......should I repeat that in Afrikaans huh?

Venter for a year would be better than ignorant Meyer for another day

Gee, I have to admire you. You are in a corner but you do not stop fighting. Or are you just too stupid to  notice that you are in a corner. You keep on pissing about Jake's record leading up to the RWC, in isolation, but you refuse to look at Mallett's record in the second half of  his tenure. Get it into your thick skull. SARU was looking for every trick in the book to fire him because his record was so kak and it was  getting kakker by the game. The eventually used his  rant about ticket prices to get rid of him

It is true that the Italians would probably never have a brilliant winning ratio but under Mallett they were utterly kak. So kak that they fired him. He wanted an extension of his contract and they told him to piss off.

And then you come with the most hilarious statement of them all. You don't mind if a national coach is a kak coach just as long as he has a brilliant rugby brain. Hahahaha. You are not serious, are you? You can try to repeat it in Afrikaans if you like. I am already having a hell of a laugh reading your bullshit. It would be even more fun reading it in your attempt at Afrikaans.

If Venter was available and appointed in 2012, he would have been fired by now, or he would have pissed off himself. Where would that have left us at this stage of the game?

Face it poepol. You are stuck with the great, the brilliant and the Afrikaans speaking Heyneke Meyer.
