Du Preez Injury

Based on Hougaards woeful passing today...FduP is one of our three key players  

Hougaard isn't perfect, but he is the closest to Du Preez's style, particularly ball-in-hand. Another one that was stuffed around, had he not been wrongly blamed for the England 2012 series where nearly all the Sharks players flopped, he would have had considerable experience by now. Looking back, can we honestly say that the Pienaar experiment was worth the trouble? And he was selected just to ease anti-Bull public pressure. But yes, Du Preez is still in another class altogether; the most complete 9 of all time in my opinion. Another living legend, and that very long crisp pass in particular will be vital.

 Why do we need a "Du Preez" style?Stop relying on veterans to pull rabbits from hats!!!We need some one that can look Du Preez square in the face and say ,"Do you know what!?!? I can do better!!!" And I dont care if he plays for the pink gorillas,when that green shirt go's over their head they are a BOK!!!!! Nuff said...there are no Sharks and Bulls and what ever else in the BOK team...just Bokke,hence they are called the Springbok team and not the Serengeti soup kitchen mix.

I have seen Du Preez buggering up badly in the past - as recently as in the Ellis [park test last year.   He is a good scrummie - but Hougaard is not any good.  
A scrummie should be an instinctive player - and Du Preez is not one.  The answer is always the same.  I would play Du Preez at scrummie - but rather use Reinach as a back up.    Du Preez is not the complete scrummie - he is more a Genia/White type of scrummie - not the Aaron Smith type - and is showing signs of getting too old for the game.
Our scrummie situation is in any event not healthy at all and I think Meyer should start looking at options - with Reinach and Groom as potential future scrummi es.       

 Du Preez is a class act. Brilliant rugby brain and very quick thinking.Still has best boot of any scrummie in the world. Clever passes etc. Like to see him take on the opposition a bit more but he still offers great value.What we need is a Reinach with his blistering pace as an impact player off the bench.Reinach will be ve ry dangerous when gaps start to open up. Faf also.

Fro the amazing gaff of the England test that never happened in 2005 (the one you DEFINITELY went to because it was when some relative had a health problem) to the bugger up of the New Zealand tests in 2006... your take on Du Preez is shameful at best!

We have at least three better scrummies in Reinach, Faff and Kockett.

I say let's move on to the talented youngsters being kept out of the team by an elderly hasbeen.

 An elderly has-been? Kockett at one point was a good bet for a Bok 9, maybe he could do a job now I don't really know. The others are bits and pieces in comparison to Du Preez. Mostly pace and energy, Du Preez has better technique in passing and kicking and applies them all more intelligently. He sees things others don't and responds with a calm authority. No other 9 has ever really reached Du Preez's level. The Boks play better with him and that's all that matters.

 
Sadly your mistaken, Buggered!!

Fourie is a shadow of the man he once was. He's slower, older, doesn't have the kicking game he once had, his passing isn't as crisp as it used to be and he no longer has the legs.

Also, it looks as if he's becoming more and more injury prone. 

It's time to move on.

He has however developed a new talent ... that is to whine at the ref about all kinds of things. 

Personally I think it's just a ploy to take a breather.

You're in your prime physically from 27-33; so the argument that teens are better is baseless.
