Firstly well done to the Stormers fo rwinning and getting a bonus point. I said prior t othematch we could still win but ou Allistairs selections had made it tha tmuch harder. In the end it was a very close affair. Kitshoff managing to stick out a handand prevent a tr yand we getting an intercept try were the defining moments of the game.

Th eman who won it for th Stormers was Rassie's appointment Nieaber. With the little guts, Aplon, Jantjes, De Jongh and Joe all getting beaten in the colllisiosn it took some superalitve work from the pack to stop the brumbies.

Players t atsimply have tomake way fortheir betters are Kolisi who agian disappeaed when he was not getting flettened. De Jongh was very medocre and Allende has to return. Aplon will probably be out for a eek or two so we will b edown to Joe and Janjtes as rthe small okes which is a much bette prospect.

Deon Fourie has to take the 6 spot. Man this is madenss. Deon is by far the best small 6 in SA and that includes wee brussouw. Groom is the better scrumhalf as well.

I see Lady Mo(NH) is gettingver yvocal about how nice ou Allistair is. Well I hav esaid on more than one occassiosn he is a decent type but unfortuntaley not the sharpest pencil in the box.

he flopped badly as a Bok backline coach. He made a massive blunder with his defence only strategy in the last two seasons!! He allowed players like Louw, Quinn Roux, Koster, JJ, etc to leave and he still doesnt know what his best side is. What doe he see in Carr - another loose forward non entity!!

He is blessed with a talented squad. Yet the they start the season at Loftus with the worst first half display in years.

No I am certainly not convinced by ou Allisatair. Naka Drotsky deserves more plaudits for what he achieves.

The Stormers won this one but ou Allistair had better understand that playing 5 microlights is going to cost us dearly even though we got away with it due to some magnificent defence by the forwards who were everywhere.

Wake up Allistair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for jantjes well please until he can really stop a guy in a tackle he should not be considered for the Boks. I do hope Grant gets back to full fitness soon.

Allistair pick the right team and play some balanced rugby and we can win this.

Unlike certain bulle herders I know off I do not go only by the scoreline. A win does not paper up cracks or things that need to change. In the same vein the sharkies must abandon their idea of playing three lightweight loosies against a decent side otr else they will get whipped again.  My grandmother would have go a hatrick against the hapless rebels!!  Put Du Toit at 7 until  Alberts is back.

first off be beeno dont knock your own boys after a decent win. i felt the game for me was more the brumbies was more of the boil than the stormers were on it. still a win is a win but old one trick pony coetzee has been in die sadle for more years than any other super rugby coach and yet the team is always "building" or working towards some peter pan like imaginary game plan that somehow does not seem to happen from AC's mind to the pitch.

to be fair dont knock the sharks game either as the rebels are no a rubbish side. they have some decent names in there and in my view are not as bad as the like of the kings highlanders nor the rubbish force.

i feel its high time that the stormers blood a new coach with a more modern view of how rugby is meant to be played. one cannot have the stormers type of depth and deliver so badly.

but old coetzee will just spin the same old lies as he has done for the past 6 odd years and the dum downed supporters will just eat it up and forget all about there issues

Muncher I do see an improvement in attack as the penny at last dropped for ou Allistair that defence was not the only aspect to rugby.

The best coach of ou rSuper 15 coaches at presnt has to be Naka. Consider how his resources are plundered each year and what he still achieves.

The Stormers game this season is more balancd so some progress has at last been made.

to be fair your comments are spot on but apart from the fact that the stormers are playing a more balanced game i am not to sure of that. its a mark improvement for your boys but with the level of depth you have now you cant really be happy with a coach that has the top job for almost 7 odd years and still is not performing to a world class standard. the stormers has a lot more depth than any other union so even just on a talent basis you should compete with any team you play against.

in my view its time for some new blood at the stormers camp in terms of coaches. his pre isolation mindset and rugby tactics will only make the stormers team a okish team instead of a world beaters. as a sharks boy myself i am very happy to play against a coetzee coached team

At the moment I am happy with the type of rugby we are playing and he only now needs to b e sharper on his selections. Hopefully the obvious will so stand out he will twigg.

Bekker goes at the end of the year as does Habana. who knows who else will go. Jean is getting on. Now is the time as we don't know who we will have next year.

We must now whip the crusties. Then get back some injured players (Etzebeth, Burger, Rhodes, Grant ) and start doing some rotation. Dont play the guys into the ground as Coetzee has done in seasons before. I really hope he has learned a lesson in this regard.

Lady MO(NH) appears to be completely overwhelmed by Allistairs charm!!

Not overwhelmed at all, he might not get everything right but that does not mean he is STUPID and an IDIOT.

Beeno
Allister Coetzee is a motivational coach, his beliefs regarding the team selection played off better than expected, we should be grateful for the victory in hand. I like the direction in which the Stormers are going with a balance of territorial mentality and running rugby which constantly keeps the opposition guessing what Stormers is intending of doing after phases. I personally didn't see much problematic issues regarding De Jongh's performance to the point that i'll consider him to be replaced, its Jean De Villiers responsibility to create space for him which he hasn't done on many occasions. As for Jantjies is concerned i have no issues with him other than the fact that his defensive aspect has been lacking, he certainly has to improve on that. I believe Jantjies knows how to control a game well in most areas, and like i said the sense of balance is there. I still prefer Peter Grant for the reason being the defence would'nt be issue at flyhalf. This week im confident Stormers will win, the Crusaders will have 3 key players unavailable Mccaw, Carter and Kieran Read. These players bring a major difference as to how they play. I hope Allister starts Deon Fourie as well as Groom and Carr

I am suppsoe I am being a bit hard on Allistair but to win this one has to be sharp. Sometimes even small things detemine the outcome.

Lets hope we get it right this time Lucid.

Beenkop, saying Fourie is a better 6 than Brussouw is a joke - I take it you missed the Cheetahs game?

I saw the Cheetahs game and saw Brussouw make some steals. However he is not the athlete Fourie is - not by some way.

If ou Allistair wakes up and puts Fourie at 6 you will see what I mean. Currie Cup player of the year - at 6 - Deon Fourie.

Brussouw is the premier 6 by some distance, Sat confirmed that.

Kolisi has been good for the Stormers at 6, no need to change that.

Fourie is the perfect impact player

Deon Fourie is a exceptional player, Brussouw has different attributes as opposed to Deon Fourie as well as positioning so they shouldn't be compared. What is unique about Deon Fourie is he can make the runs watch the video at 0:32 sec. Amazing for a hooker

sorry beeno brussouw is twice the player that fourie is. i find it strange that you arent bashing fourie as fourie is not as "big" as the other flankers. though he is the type of player we need to promote and encourage in SA teams. schalk burgers days are numbered.

brussouw benched louw and burger in his prime so even comparing a make shift opensider like fourie to one of the best opensiders in world rugby is a farce

Please muncher next time Fourie plays 6 take a closer look. Looks to me to be stronger than Brussouw especially over the ball, a lot faster and extremely combatative and intelligent.  If you can afford a smallish loosie he is the man.

Did you note how many times brussouw got knocked off the ball. That is one reason why Louw will remain at 6. If they need speed, power and skill look no further than Deon Fourie the best 6 in thew world last year - a lion heated player and leader.

I know you will say he has not played 6 at test level but I can assure anything wee brussouw can do Fourie can do better. Had he played for the Boks his reputation would be that of a world class 6 of the smaller type.

Snapster wake up and smell the roses. Kolisi is nowhere in Deon's class. He was piss poor on Saturday and lacks the physical clout needed. Fourie is very compact and drives the ball up magnificently. Vastly underrated by ignorant types. Kolisi for now should be used as an impact player.

In the same way I was right about Bekker versus wee matfield I am right about Deon. He was playing brilliantly at six and was being called a hooker playing 6 until the oaks finally got the message. SA Currie Cup player o fthe year - at 6. Some oaks are always behind the curve! Bwahahahahahahhahahaha

Suck it up oaks suck it up and open your eyes. Fourie of the small flanker type is world class.

And please oaks no more twaddle!!!  Deon is the man. Good luck to wee Brussouw though the Cheetahs need players.

The most obvious things escape the oaks!
