He looks like the early find of the season. Not sure if these stats are correct, as he looked like he was at least 100kg. He is fast, has a good step and looks strong in contact.

SB

I share the feelings of Chippo as to the guy.    I thinkhe must have gaine some muscle since the stats indicated above - hen looks more sturdy to me than the stats above reflects.

Would not be surprised if this guy ends up in the Springbok squad.   I also like Sbu Nkosi nd Mapimpi.

"I am super impressed.. He runs like a Polynesian."

Yep, I said that last week

Another guy who was told he was too small for rugby blah blah blah. No doubt by some genius school level coach who had a picture of Meyer framed and hanging in his office.

He seems like a smart Elliot Daly kind of wing. We will know more at the end of Super Rugby, but certainly one to watch.

Very polished player with fine rugby brain and real acceleration, footwork, passing skills vision and speed. BUT if he is 87 kgs he might struggle. ESPN also gives his weight as 87. His physicality will be proved or otherwise this year. 25 year old  Raymond Rhule is 86 kg.

That other wing Mahuza was it also has blistering pace but again looks small:

According to Wikipedia Damian McKenzie weighs 81. Wouldn't mind him in my team.

Funny how every player is either too fat, too thin, too heavy, too light, too slow or too old for their positions. I'm starting to second guess even my own judgement.

@Chippo

Don't worry mate.

I've often been told I'm "much too" sexy for my shirt.

But I survive

Yeah ... he's potent on attack. Acceleration, top end pace, steps off both feet ... is certainly very impressive.

Question is ... how will he cope with a Naholo bearing down on him? Will those 100 inch pistons he calls legs knock Dyanty's teeth down his throat? Will he even notice Dyantyi on his back as he dives over for a try?

What's his work rate off the ball? How is he under the high ball? Does he have a kicking game?

There is a lot more to being a top test wing than just raw pace.

We will soon see.

Well ... you know what they say, BeanDip ... "great minds think alike" ... but then again, I also heard somewhere that ... "fools seldom differ" ...

Think I'll go with the former.

Of course it's early days.

But he has started as well as is possible thus far. Looks like the type of guy that can make tries out nothing like Habana used to...centuries ago.

That run to confuse the three Jags defenders showed some nice instinct. The type that can't be taught.

What do the Lions do when both Skosan and Combrink are fit? Pleasant headaches i guess.
