This won't interest all but there will be some that take interest in the rugby game itself and as a whole.
It is good to see that the IRB and other rugby bodies such as Fira are putting together matches that allow inter play between developing countries...in a sense that it augurs well in the very much longer term for union...something that's been neglected in the past.
I've alway felt for those small rugby countries that qualify for the RWC and have to face and ride out "the charge of the light brigade" against the big 5...very intimidating and often criticised by the major rugby playing countries as a waste of time.
Waste of time in the pool stages it might well be as it stands and indeed it will continue to be unless the smaller nations in rugby get exposure and a chance to stretch their legs and flex their muscles against stronger opposition...this will take some time but one already sees improvement.
The RWC would indeed benefit by major developement program and this involves playing across the continents of the world...it has to develope in stages...obviously it would be counter productive for the Boks to play Georgia but the emerging Boks it makes sense, just as it made sense for Canada to play NZ Maories.
In June we will see this...quite encouraging :
