Never has a host failed to reach the quarter-final of a Rugby World Cup but that was the humiliating fate that befell England in 2015 and, to their great joy, it was Australia that delivered the killer blow.

This followed on from the 2011 Mike Tindell stag do in New Zealand, where most of the time was spent throwing dwarfs, getting drunk and thrown out of hotels.

Stuart Lancaster's England were drawn in a 'group of death' with the Wallabies and Wales and the Welsh inflicted the first damage in the second pool game, Dan Biggar's penalty from half-way giving them a nailbiting 28-25 victory and making the Australia game a must-win.

But the Wallabies ran riot at Twickenham, flyhalf Bernard Foley scoring two tries in the first half to give Australia a handy lead which they never relinquished.

An Anthony Watson try on 56 minutes give England a brief glimmer of hope but this was extinguished when flyhalf Owen Farrell received a yellow card for a dangerous tackle with 10 minutes to go and a late Matt Giteau try sealed the Wallaby win.

Lancaster left the England job shortly afterwards to be replaced by Eddie Jones while Australia charged to the final, which they lost 34-17 to the all-conquering All Blacks.

What's your RWC stats against us...and NZ? What's ours'?...and you will have to beat Aus and NZ/Ireland to play us...don't be windgat, your team isn't nearly that great...good, but nit great.

the year we won we beat both australia and new zealand away from home and then beat you guys and then beat australia again. Can you say the same thing? we went on a 41 test streak with only 3 losses and that was in around 3.5 years. Can you boast the same thing?

I dont have to boast anything, our record speaks for itself.

  1. We weren't allowed ro compete in the first 2
  2. 95 - We won the first one we played in..at home, but we beat Aus, France and NZ with Lomu in that one! Mike Cat LOL!
  3. 99 - We lost to Aus (the eventual champions) in extra time- Larkam's only drop goal in test rugby the difference...after demolishing you lot on the way Jannie de Beer FTW!...then we beat NZ for bronze.
  4. We were bad in 2003 no excuses.
  5. 2007: Demolished you 36-ZIP in the pools and beat you in the final...
  6. 2011, we played very stupid to let Aus and Brycy beat us in the quarters...what did you lot achieve?
  7. 2015...in Mud Isle-Boks narrowly lose to the Allblacks in the semifinals...NZ wins the final comfortably and SA wins bronze ...again....Englad doesn't even get past the pool stages.
  8. 2019 Suddenly England are world beaters? LOL!
Good luck, but even with quotas and the other BS, it's still much better being a Bok than a Pom....and we get to live with great weather and less mud.
GO BOKKE!!!

Yeah at home in fort altitude but you still needed a little lady to poison the all blacks. Wow the glory shining from you is sooo pure and holy.... not... hehehehe!

Yeah beat us with the boot and a phony try in the corner. Stegosaurus rugby... yawn! we were a work in progress remember that was the beginning work leading up to of our amazing run of victories (best ever). You dinosaur game is why you couldnt beat australia.

2007 was a bad year and we had a clown pretend to be coach so the players ran the show. Anoter bad call in the corner but this time the call wasnt given.

We had a tough pool, maybe toughest pool ever in 2015. You only had to beat scotland and japan and that wasnt easy enoiugh for you now was it Draado??? I hope to god you lot get a pool that tough itll be funny as shit watching the panic button get smooshed and then you turn on your own players and coach and each other. death to the goats. The great circle of life XD

"Suddenly"??? How are we suddenly world beaters clown??? You blind??? We beat uour sorry asses and were best in the world in 2016, best in the world right now. Dont talk too much smack cause itll only end in tears.

South africa and england have played each other 42 times.

The Boks have won 25 of those games.

On neutral ground, the boks have won 3 out of 4.

In england the boks have won 11 out of 22. 1 match was drawn.

Does this forhand, backhand need to go on much longer CAMB?

oh... and have we ever lost to England at a RWC?

Tough pool LOL...best in the world in 2016...in your dreams, you deliberately dodged NZ. You were best in the world in 2003 and only marginally so....to really be the best, you need to beat NZ atleast twice in a row...one match in NZ...not gonna happen...ever.

well its easy when you play them every year we dont. Or not so easy because you never did it again. You beat them twice in 1998, got lucky with ANOTHER phony try at the death. Always complain bout refs but you sure get a lot of calls. Times have changed pal and your tri nation click is dead in the water. Keep the stale memories, we're busy making fresh ones.... XD

The CAMB scammer is a loonie.

Lets agree about one thing,   England after making arrangements to what would happen in the 1999 world cup after beating SA, was disillusioned during the game and really given a rude awakening,  To their credit they kept basically the same squad and developed them further and ended up winning the WC in 2003.   This was their only WC trophy won since the start of the WC in 1987.

Because they suffered from Meyeritis they thought that they would win the WC basically with the team they had in 1999 and were given a  hiding of 36-0 in the round robin game by SA,   As luck would have it  they got through to the final against SA and lost again.

After that they really went nowhere in the 2011 WC they were   disgraced in 2015 and could no even get into the play-offs.  In the meantime SA went into melt down from 2014 to 2017 under Meyer and Coetzee leading to the appointment of  Erasmus  as coach in 2018 three months before the England Series in 2018 in SA,

England was cock-a-hoop about winning that second rate 6 Nations trophy in 2016.  By 2018 they were back to normal even drawing with the Scots in the 6-Nations.   In June 2018 they came to SA and lost the first two tests after which Erasmus selected an experimental team to play England in the third test - which they won.

That was followed by a test in November 2018 at Twickenham o which they were under pressure constantly and benefited by some poor SA performances and they won by 2 points in the end after an incident at the end of the game when they should have been penalized and was not.  The referee after the match said he made a mistake and apologized for it,  Even playing at Twickenham the AB's beat them in November 2018.

So where are we now?  Again a list of big talk about a team with 8 foreign borne players and the POMS claim they are the best team in the world.   Sorry - but I have my doubts about the big-mouth claim.

They might get through to the semi this year - but playing in Japan where conditions would favour NZ I cannot see them beating NZ, Maybe there agony would end this week already even though Australia is weakened as well.

The English lost the

haha.. entertaining reading through this thread... Poms are funny when they get their backs up... but they have reason... that is a good pom team this year and pretty well coached - if they beat the ABs in semis (if all plays out that way) then will likely win 2019 RWC... unless the Boks are there in the GF...  what a mouth watering affair that would be.... (im sure Eztebeth will be called on to silence Itoje... what a matchup that could be...)

But the title of the post does indeed say it all... Congrats on the record in tact there!! Come at me Pom... lolololol.... too funny...

CAMB

Don't worry son. It has been ordained by WR that this cup is yours.

The whistle belongs to England from here on out.

The only other team with a chance is Ireland.
