England will play two midweek matches as well as three Tests as part of their tour to South Africa this June.
The schedule for the tour has been finalised with England set to tackle the Springboks in Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth. Saru has confirmed that two midweek matches will also be staged ahead of the second and third Tests.
England will play a South Africa Barbarians South team in Kimberley on 13 June. The following week, the tourists will tackle a SA Barbarians North team in Potchefstroom on 19 June.
Saru CEO Jurie Roux said that the SA Barbarians teams would comprise players from the Currie Cup First Division teams. The coaches will be appointed in due course.
England coach Stuart Lancaster said: ‘This will be a massive and exciting challenge for us. England have never had a three-Test series in South Africa and, with two midweek games against opponents who will be desperate to impress, these five games gives us a great opportunity for a wider group of players to put their hat in the ring and gain international experience.
‘We were pleased with the progress we made in the Six Nations and this tour is another important step on the journey towards 2015.’
