ENGLAND
They've won 3 of the last 5 test, and made us work hard for the 2 we did win. They carved up our soft underbelly throughout the June series. That said, the Boks are a better side since then, and have settled on a game style and personnel. I think we'll edge a tight game. I wouldn't be surprised by a loss, as Eddie will be targeting this game and learned alot from the three test series. Much will depend on who plays 9 and 15, As Faf and Willie won't be available. I still think we should have enough firepower to win.

FRANCE
France can't seem to win even if the Boks put it on a platter. Home or away their record has been terrible. They've lost 12 of their last 14 tests, and drew against Japan at Stade de France. The Boks are clearly the better side in better form. I can't see anything but a win. A loss would be a huge step backwards. To add insult to injury we'll have Willie and Faf back.

SCOTLAND 
We never got to see it in our last encounter, but this is definitely the best Scottish side ever. They can pile on the points and be a real handful when they get going. In November they put 57 points on Australia. Some would argue a red card affected the outcome, making it a lopsided affair, the reality is they were dominating the Wallaroos long before then. They also pummeled Argentina 44-12 in June. The only sides to truly better the wily Scots were Wales and Ireland. Two teams with a powerful ruck presence who can play directly and score tries themselves. The Scots were battered by them. However, they beat England. They usually score 3 tries or more. 
The danger would be fighting fire with fire and allowing them to get a foothold in the game. I think we have the grunt up front to take the sting out of their attack and our much vaunted defence will see us through. If our tactical kicking game is on point, I think we will win comfortably. A loss will be very disappointing.

WALES
Ever since the 2004 EOYT we have always found Wales to be a tough matchup. Their time under Gatland has been particularly tough. After years of coming agonisingly close, they got their breakthrough in 2014 and have beaten us three in a row since the World Cup. This could be our trickiest opponent. We'll need to be accurate and physical. A good kicking game can expose the way Wales typically defend. They can stifle our big ball carriers, rendering them a blunt force. They have muscle to throw at us themselves and usually make good use of it. They finished second in the 6 Nations. I'll back the Boks to win this, but it won't be easy.

Nice write up Aug! On the whole I agree with your opinions, but I am very worried about the Scottish test. England will be tough, but i think we'll edge them, with some luck we'll hopefully get Faf and Willie back for that test. Without the two of them it is going to be very tough. Wales is the big one. I have us as slight underdogs. Just based on the performances of the two teams over the last couple of years and with Wales playing at home. Coming back to the Scottish test, I have a bad feeling about this game. They we're very good against England in the last test of the 6 Nations. As you say, this is probably the best ever Scottish team. 
This is a very important series. If we can perform well, and by that I mean win at least four of the five games, we'll be in a good position for the WC next year. However, if we drop the ball and have a poor series I think it will be a big problem to recover in time for the WC. The one little thing that I think is going to benefit us is Rassie's experience coaching up North. We shall see, but this promises to be a humdinger of a series! Mainly because there is really not that much between the top 8 teams in the world. NZ are still the best team, but as we saw from their two games against us in the Rugga champs, they are certainly not unbeatable.

@Bluebok: Very thankyou Herr Bläue. Agreed, Scotland could be a potential banana peel. If the Boks play smart they should win. If they get cute and try to out run them, they could make us look stupid. Especially considering how our defence has been paper tin from certain situations.

England and Wales will be tough. Wales should  be the toughest. Considering how much esteem the Boks have garnered, anything less than 4 out of 5 will be a failure. Realistically we are going to lose at least one game. It'll be either Wales or England. Losing both will be bad. Rassie has got to beat those two. If he does, I'll give this tour an A. We need to leave an impression before the World Cup.

I think the Pom test is the key.....win that one well and we might sweep the series. Struggle or lose and the other tests are all in doubt. The big new factor vs the home tests is the good form of Vinnie Vunipola who was a non factor in RSA. He looked back to 2016 form last Saturday. In my estimation he was huge in the Poms winning streak and they weren't the same team without him.

Wonder what position he plays? There was a Vinny Vunipola who played for Tonga some years ago and he was a prop. Maybe he's out of retirement and found a way past the eligibility rules? All sounds a bit unlikely to me. My guess is that the deceitful old fossil is on his second beer shandy and got a bit confused.

It is bad to be a liar all the time and then supported by other liars,   The BSter tried to make a point and missed it completely,   But then he does not realize what a  center is and when a player cannot take into account when a player play at center or in another position - anything goes. 

It was the same idiot that only last year wanted Fat Fransie in the Springbok team at flyhalf - but he cheered madly when Morne played at flyhalf under Coetzee and failed badly.    He also crooked the stats of De Jongh when he played at center for the Boks under the same Coetzee.   So what did he come up with,   In the game he criticized De Allnde who made 14 tackles and missed 2 and kept quiet about DE Jongh making 7 tackles and missing 3.     It was only after I earlier pointed out the real stats of De Jongh and then suddenly came the excuse that ESPN changed the stats,   Even though if there was indeed a change it was made earlier than the normal Mozart cover-up in the original thread he posted about the missed tackle issue and the fact that in another thread I posted before his post I mentioned the real tackle stats,   As per normal the serial liar tried to cover up his lies by making a false claim. 

Devious as always - just like the despicable AO and Pakie.

I can believe that ESPN updated their stats. It's consistent with how Moz has traditionally operated. He said that this as the case. If he was a liar, like you, he'd have denied it and accused everyone else of being stupid and subhuman etc.

Now, a liar omits details. Such as your omission of Super rugby's defence stats when asserting that defence isn't in decline or poor. You missed out the stats for over 100 games. More than a mistake. A lie. You tried to deceive everyone. When it was quickly pointed out by Moz, you went on the attack. You are caught in your little lies daily.

Plum, I'm pretty happy with the Boks. Don't think the results have been great - especially that dreadful loss to the Wallabies - but the Bokke are playing with some fire in their bellies again, something we haven't seen for a long time.
I've never been a huge fan of Rassie, not since those days when he had all the lights going and was trying to control everything the players did on the field, but he's doing something right and I like the attitude of the players under him. I definitely think there's scope for further improvement.
