Test matches are not about developing talent for tomorrow, but winning today with the best talent that is available.

Your starting team is too green and would most likely get beat, especially against the likes of France- and this would tarnish the Springbok record.
Combinations take time to develop, as well as players time to get international experience.
It would be better to have the old fashioned tours where the Dirt Trackers played the mid- week games.  This would allow all the young players to get into the squad and get used to the game plan and systems.
The ones that they stand out get onto the bench for the test matches, or if exceptional get the starting test position from the incumbent.
Giving test caps away like Candyfloss would just strengthen the CV's of 3rd or 4th choice players - and given them more incentive to leave overseas.
Kolisi has had some good games against weaker opposition but was poor when he came on last week against Australia.
The likes of Steph Du-Toit and Malherbe should be starting on the overseas tour. Others like de Allende should get blooded in as well. However Dejong although a decent player is more of a quota selection.
Jantjies needs to prove that he can play at SuperXV level again, before even remotely being included on this tour. He is young - so what- next year a new younger player will hit the scene that is better.
CJ standers wants to play for Ireland, so let him be.

Well, SP Marais is better than Kirchner.

Habana would be a loss to a certain extent

Serfontein for Jean would be no loss in clout at 12

Lambie would be an improvement on Morne

v/Zyl is not du Preez, but du Preez is not available. v/Zyl is better than Pienaar

Nkanyane and Kitshoff are up there with Beast, who lets face it appears to be past his best........same can be said of Jannie......where Coenie and Malherbe would provide more clout.

Steph du Toit is a vast improvement on Flip and Kruger

Louw has not set the world alight at 6, Kolisi would provide more visible input

Elstadt is a younger Alberts who does not go awol at times.

CJ Stander is on record saying he would play for the Boks if Meyer gave him the call. He is our best looseforward

And when we lose and with that squad we'd be killed , you would be complaining about Meyer's win/loss record Dave. Hell you dont even pick Strauss and we have Rhule, Coetzee, Kolisi, Jantjies. Madness.

Saffex

In essence I agree with most of your selections.   However there are obvious places where you are completely wrong.  If you cannot see that Zeilinga  is already  ten times the flyhalf that Jantjies will ever be - you must be blind.

What is wrong with Strauss - why is he suddenly persono non grata with you?

And you may not wish to see it - but Jean is still our top center.

Nope that side is an improvement on Meyers side bar Habana, Jean, Beast and Vermeulen at a push...........but Serfontein is as good if not better than Jean, Kitshoff and Nkanyane are up there with Beast these days and CJ Stander is better than Vermeulen. I'm resting Strauss, I have Bismark on board as he has missed most of the year.

I'm not starting Rhule, Coetzee or Jantjies, they are in the squad. Jantjies is better than Morne. Coetzee is better than Alberts, who lets face it has had very few moments this year.

Starting Kolisi ahead of Louw would be an improvement. Louw has not had one stand out test all year.

The test is this weekend, if we dont beat the Kiwi's at home with Meyers side then I rest my case.............my Bok side would not contain Kirchner, Jean, Morne, Jannie, Kruger, Louw and Alberts

Would not gamble on Serfontetin at this stage - he ahd 30 minutes playing time on Saturday and did not show anything much in that time - very good youngster - but have to be phased in.

And the laugh is on my side - let me put it plainly.  ZEILINGA IS TEN TIMES BETTER THAN JANTJIES - THE LATTER IS AT BEST A CC PLAYER AND A FAILURE AT SUPER 15.  HE WILL FAIL AGAIN NEXT YEAR - BECAUSE HE REALLY IS NOT UP TO THE REQUIRED STANDARD.

On CC level Zeilinga out-played Jantjies in every match he played in - maybe you have not seen all the matches - but I have and he is the hottest player in CC at the moment.   And Catrakillis was also better than Jantjies on Super 15 level.   I agree that Steyn is not of any value and Jantjies may be better than him - but he is by far weaker than players like Catrakillis and Zeilinga.   I doubt not that the future belongs to Goosen and Zeilinga.     In any event - we cannot have a player like Jantjies anywhere near the Springbok team - unless there is a miraculous improvement in his performance - but the chances of that is zero.  So best advice - forget about the flop Earl Silky Hands J antjies.

benefits of having vetereans in the team is that they can pass on some of their first hand knowledge onto the younger members of the team.

@saffex,
how has the sharks mtbeu been playing???

i thought he had  a ton of potential when playing in the spXV and if he had some of that from in the CC, then he should be in the squad too.

Mtembu has been very good, I was tempted to include him in my youthful squad. That lad has something about him
