So attention turns to the EOYT now

Five matches, two of which will be tough against France and Ireland, the other three a perfect opportunity to give the youngsters more game time.

So we need to be selecting our best 23 against France and Ireland which will exclude injured players Fassi, Elrigh Louw and Hanekom

With Fassi out we need to find a short term alternative and that must not be Willemse as he is completely wasted at 15 and as he showed against the AB’s his best value is achieved at 12. For me the options at fullback are Moodie, David Kriel, Jordan Hendrikse. But I want to see us stick with Moodie at 13.

So against the two toughies I would go with the following:

15 David Kriel 14 Kolbe 13 Moodie 12 Willemse 11 Arendse 10 Sacha 9 Williams 1 Ox 2 Marx 3 Wilco 4 Eben 5 RG 6 Kolisi 7 PSDT 8 Wiese

16 Wessels 17 Steenkamp 18 Thomas 19 Cobus Wiese 20 Kwagga 21 vd Bergh 22 Pollard 23 Hooker

Against the other three let’s see the likes of:

15 Jordan Hendrikse 14 Edwill 13 Julius 12 Hooker 11 Green 10 Libbok 9 Papier 1 Boan Venter 2 Dweba 3 Hanro Jacobs 4 Ruan Vermaak 5 Ruben v Heerden 6 Buthelezi 7 Vincent Tsituka 8 Roos

16 AH Venter 17 Mchunu 18 Frans Klopper 19 JF v Heerden 20 Nortje 21 Manu Tsituka 22 Pead 23 Horn

Plus a handful of others like Jayden Hendrikse, Jooste, Grobelaar, Ludwig, BJ Dixon and Ruan Venter

Thats the way I would go

David Kriel at 15? Are you joking?

With 0 test experience... against France and England.

You'd be settimg him up to fail David.

Listen to me nicely boy.... 99 times out of 100... even generational talent needs to be groomed and brought in to the system nicely.

Im not saying DK isnt a wonderful player, but unless we absolutely HAVE to.... I'd much rather blend him in to our structures.

David, you'll disagree with me here...

For the England and France match, i'd much rather have DDA and Jesse at 12 and 13 with Willemse at fullback.

Willemse is 100% a wonderful 12, but right now.... we are ok at center, but we have a void at fullback with Fassi out.

The only other (untested) option is Moodie at 15.

I am not convinced Fassi will be our first choice fullback and the next World Cup. His defensive positional play at fullback has not been good enough.

Keep Willemse at 12 and let him grow his partnership with Sasha and Libokk, and then test out alternative fullbacks.

"Why the fuck would anyone select average Nortje at 5?"

Our lineout functions better with him in it and the man has an engine to rival PSDT's. Makes his tackles, hits rucks and has a nice touch on the pull back passes. Solid operator.

David is pretty obsessed with chunky locks.

I disagree a bit with him here.

@Xavi... Nortje started the RC terribly but grew in stature as the comp went on.

He is a winderful replacement for the ageing Brannas Mostert, who David also didnt like much.

Anyway.... I back Rassie (and his coaching staff) on this one, he clearly sees something in Nortje.

Our best backline talent pool is on the wings….Kolbe, Arendse, Edwill, Hooker. Rather than play an ordinary talent like Hendrikse, why not shift Kolbe to fullback and play the other two on the wing. There’s a back three with fire power.

The best player under the high ball this year was Edwill, he was brilliant, but I’m not sure if his boot is quite good enough for 15.

Xavi it’s beyond me that you attach so much credit to Nortje and our line outs

Our locks have always been good in that department whether it’s had Eben, Lood, RG or Mostert in tow

Nortje like Mostert fails miserably in the physical stakes, such an important part of a test locks make up. He is a far better athlete and player than Mostert but sells us short physically

No Chip we have to move on from DA, AE, Jessie and Am at centre and that needs to be now

DA etc did us a great service over a long time but I’m bored with them - especially after Willemse’s performance at 12 against the AB’s

So for me against France and Ireland it has to be Willemse at 12

The best fits for fullback in the absence of Fassi is David Kriel and Jordan Hendrikse but I get your point that playing them there in vital tests is too much of a gamble. Same would apply to the likes of Tyrone Green and Quan Horn who would do a good job at 15

Moodie is an option but I’d prefer to see him retained at 13, plus playing him at 15 would be on par with throwing the likes of David Kriel etc in the deep end as he is new to test rugby and it’s never been at 15

So the best bet is Kolbe at 15 given his experience at test level, with Edwil and Arendse on the wing - Willemse and Moodie at centre with Sacha at 10, Williams at 9 with vd Bergh, Libbok or Pollard and Hooker on the bench

David, you say you're bored of DA etc...

I don't know if boredom is a good enough reason to change things up.

As mentioned previously, I'm all game to see D Kriel, Willemse, SFM, Hooker etc... thats our future...

But it needs to be done methodically. Otherwise we'll either temporarily dip in form which will cause SARugby a few headaches... or we'll totally ruin a few careers.

So ideally i'd love to see some of he new guys selected for the italian and japanese tests, but the experienced core to start against the others.

I hate making lists until squads ahve been selected, so when that happens, lets compare some lists.

Anyway... its so lekker to debate these things with you.

Chip for me Willemse and Moodie showed us the way forward and I’m excited about what the likes of Hooker, Julius, David Kriel and Henco v Wyk can add to the equation

Personally I think Jurenzo will surpass Moodie at 13 in time he is thst exciting

I have always been a huge fan of DA, AE and Am, less so Jessie but still rate him highly. Apart from Am, the others play it predictably which has served us well for ages and they played it according to a plan

But I’m bored of that plan and I want to see if the Willemse at 12 way will work over an extended period. He is very experienced so replacing DA with him is not a concern. Moodie is still finding his way at 13 but I feel that now that the creative and intelligence of Am at 13 has been replaced by the more robotic version of 13 in Jessie, we lose nothing with Moodie continuing to push at 13 - he has far more X factor than Jessie ever had

Fassi injured throws a huge spanner in the works as it’s forcing Rassie to move Willemse to 15 where he is clearly nowhere near as effective as he is at 12

Rassie has to find a back up for Fassi and he needs to be using the Jap, Italian and Welsh tests to do this - my call is Jordan Hendrikse - this lad is good

But I get your take that we can’t throw him or David Kriel in against France and Ireland so we need to find a short term solution in order to keep Willemse at 12

Kolbe is the obvious choice - given his general test experience, has played 15 and is fearless

Plus a back three of Kolbe, Arendse and Edwil is pretty exciting from an attacking point of view

Nice chatting rugby for a change instead of all this boring shit taking place on here at the moment

Do you realize just how pathetically stupid and vindictive you look here.....

You met Moz ... a long time ago, even went out for dinner with him.... I think.

You also already personally know that Moz has done extremely well for himself..... I think we all do

We also know that he has a few degrees behind his name.... I think in economincs, but I'm not too sure

We also know that he once ran or was on the board of one or a few Fortune 500 companies

You also know that he has a very nice property portfolio as well, in various places in the world

Insult him all you want David, as many times as you want to..........but to try and portray Moz as someone who was "piss poor at his job", when you are the one who gave up and ran away from your only profession, is just low class and typical of what your true character really is.

It's sad actually
