Erasmus indiatd there will be some changes to the Team for the second test

"Despite having pulled off one of the greatest comebacks in their history, the Springboks could go into Saturday's second Test against England in Bloemfontein with a couple of changes to their starting line-up. 

That was confirmed by coach Rassie Erasmus on Monday as he spoke about the importance of trying new things between now and the Rugby World Cup next year. 

The Boks have come through the first Test against England unscathed from an injury perspective, but Erasmus is still looking to make "subtle" alterations. 

"It is very tempting to stick with the same guys and give us the best chance of winning on Saturday," Erasmus said.

"Obviously we want to win, but we'll have to try a few things.

"After this game there are only 16 matches left to that World Cup. 

"Week by week we will have to try new things and this week again. It won't be major changes in the team but there will be one, two or three subtle changes."

One of those changes could see hooker Schalk Brits come into the matchday 23 at the expense of Akker van der Merwe."

I think the last sentence is absurd it is the type of junk rubbish Mozart thrives on.   Erasmus himself said that Brits is there to advise the younger players and he mentioned the 16 tests leading up to the World Cup.   So would he pick Brits too play?   The answer really is no - there is no future in doing that - it is the kind of stupidity Meyer thrived in and ultimately let to disaster.

So which changes might happen?   I think the changes might be the following:-

*    Replacing Am  - he showed near to zero positive in the game on Saturday.   This could be either by bringing back Kriel or moving De Allende to 13 and bringing in Esterhuizen.

*    Bringing in Mapimpi on the bench ahead of  Gelant

*    Starting with Du Toit - by either replacing Du Preez or Mostert and benching whomsoever is replaced.

Esterhuizen is gonna start Mike. 

I also think he will want Kitshoff on the field for longer.

I was watching the second half of the game again - and the scrumming was indicative of a problem.   After starting poorly in the first scrum of the match and giving away a penalty by in particular Louw - the rest of the scrumming in the first half by SA was either going back slowly or by being static.   

In the second half the last scrum by Beast and Louw resulted in a short arm penalty in the English 22.   Fact is that the scrumming of  both Louw and Beast was just about satisfactory or in some cases below par.  There never was a case where the scrumming in the time Louw and Beast was on was re ally top class putting the English under pressure.

So on came Du Toit and Kitshoff and the whole picture changed.   The first scrum was static - the second one the English collapsed and a penalty ensued.  The third scrum was the same and Vullipola was carded as a result.   It was clear that with Du Toit and Kitshoff on the Springboks got scrumming superiority for the first time during the match.

If that is the norm and here is a change of the props the affected player is likely to be Louw.  He was not the first choice prop to start on Saturday in any event and after his poor performance against Wales he was lucky to start.   He may be rested on Saturday with Either Du Toit or Malherbe starting and being on the bench repectively.   I think in the main Beast is untouchable in any event - so the likely guy to go is Louw if there is any changes amongst the props.  

... or we could see the weedy De Allende replaced by Esterhuizen and another option brought in at 13 ... no doubt a dark skinned fella ... like Dyantyi ... with Mapimpi to slot in on the wing.

We all know that Esterhuizen would have taken Brown down.

It's just logical to get rid of the weak link.

Unlike you Erasmus look at actual performance not prejudice and that is where he will make huis decisions.

I think we will be sure about changes only on Thursday - those I listed above are just some of my own impressions based on actual performances last Saturday.

However, I would not at6 all be surprised if Louw is rested - he actually was poor in scrumming for a while now.    

More abject ignorance from wee cc. Allende is around 103 kg and stop forwards in their tracks. This clown cc obviously has visual problems and needs new specs after playing too much computer assisted chess over the internet - mostly against the computer of dense den se!!!! Bwahahhahahaha

Well, I for one, would like to see Esterhuizen take a step up from Super Rugby. Like to see what he can do in the test arena. No harm in that.

Sure make the change but not because AM is useless. You cant assess after one test ou maaaikiee

*    Bringing in Mapimpi on the bench ahead of  Gelant. No Gelant must stay and get some time ff the game situation allows. Mpimpi could start as a winger.

*    Starting with Du Toit - by either replacing Du Preez or Mostert and benching whomsoever is replaced. Start wi th Du Tot. That said Du Preez had an impressive test. Steph Du Toit though looks to be emerging as a world class 7.

Again you could start with Kits and  Du Toit. Beast had a good game. Wilco settled in after a time and was adequate. Not a big fan of Wilco. He is big but doesn't punch his weight.

To me win the test, if scoreboard permits give bench as much opportunity as possible. Win this test and experiment more 3rd test.

Mozart lied outright about the second try and I watched the situation again - just his normal way of lying about what happened in matches.   

As to  Louw the asshole did not look at all scrums and see what happened.   The scrumming allI the time Louw and Beast was on was average to poor,  He is so superficial the whole issue is about the scrum penalty only.  

Are you nuts - Fat Fransie is out of the series totally.   He was so piss-poor in his last match that Erasmus is probably relieved by his absence.  He has no chance of him being called up again/

Mapimpi can also play at full back - while Dyantyi can also play at center.
