Other players Erasmus has been in contact with include 2016 Springbok scrumhalf Faf de Klerk (Sale Sharks), centre Juan de Jongh (Wasps) and tighthead prop Vincent Koch (Saracens).
de Jongh and Koch.......why would you bother?

I think that Erausmus is going to fiddle the bench - but I think there are at least four centers better than De Jongh - Am. Mapoe, Dyantyi and Mnisi - so why bother with De Jongh.
The other player mentioned by Erasmus is Fat Fransie - he is the worst center I have seen this decade.
And then there are Bismarck - with the return of Strauss is he still needed?
Erasmus is talking about Whiteley as captain - so he will be the 8, Vermeulen regu larly under-perform so what else is new?
My point xzekerlly.....there are an abundance of homegrown centres better than lightweight de Jongh.
There's a need for three hookers so I can understand Bismarck and Strauss to backup Marx.
Vincent Koch is pap....it would be strange choice.
Rassie would be better served finding an Eddie Jones like backline coach if that's possible.
Dyantyi ... a test center? Common!!?
Um ... not sure if you guys are aware of Rassie's commitment to the 50% quota mix?
It's non neg!!
That means that for every white player there must be a black player ... so ... go ahead and pick your best 7 starting whiteys and then fill the rest in with whatever black names come up alphabetically.
Bismarck will never play test match rugby again. Strauss as far as I know is still retired from test rugby. The vacant spot will be filled by a darkie. Probably Ralepelle. Besides that ... Akker vd Merwe is the 2nd best and should pip them all to the line if merit was norm.
All the players listed above w ould not make my squad.
It's more than painful, racist to be exact but there is no getting around the ANC quota policy. Now that we've tidied that one up you might have to read Rassie's take on the 46%. It's not a 50/50 split of the team.....he says that he has to achieve 46% by the close of the Test season. Don't make it harder than what it already is....thank you kindly.
He has to have three Hookers, I'd singalong with Ackers and one of Strauss/ Bismarck.
Still, there's a problem at centre, perhaps even worse than last year in that there's more to choose from with no outstanding player/players in that lot of centres. Like everyone else he's going to get something wrong with selections....Vincent Koch is a dead duck for starters.
