This is just something that has been swimming around in my mind, but excuse the pun. I can't help but think of how many players that have left the sharks all of a sudden finds themselves either being a key player at their new team or springbok contention. Here are some of the most obvious escapees that has made a name for themselves from the sharks

  1. Roos
  2. Libbok
  3. Nohamba
  4. Louw
  5. JJ van der Mesch

All 4 are still very young, but now featuring at their new franchises. However, the sharks are struggling to beat teams this year and only get by the skin of their teeth.
Any other players that escaped the shark tank?
I almost feel that it is detrimental to be at the sharks for your career and you are better of leaving if you were a young player.

I forgot that Tambwe was with them too, didn't realise that Zas came from the sharks. I think he might have started at the stormers, went to the sharks and then came back.

I don't know why the Sharks are such a popular team. They don't play a great brand of rugby. They can win, but that is because they have a history of buying big name players.

Bismark, Jannie, Frans Steyn, Ruaan Pienaar to name a few were all bought. So it buys them some success. Even Am came from Eastern Province. I don't see them producing a lot of talent. They only notable players to mind is JP Pietersen, Butch James, Muller and Henry Honiball, but I think Honriball was also a Freestate player. So they raid other unions talent and waste the talent that they have.

Not sure the sharks are good for SA rugby
