The following from News24:-

"Springbok lock Eben Etzebeth and New Zealand winger Nehe Milner-Skudder will join Toulon, the club's president Mourad Boudjellal announced on Thursday.

Etzebeth, who has 75 Springbok caps, has signed a two-year deal with the Top 14 outfit and 2015 World Cup winner Milner-Skudder will feature for the side for three seasons.

According to Toulon's official website, Etzebeth will join the French club at the end of the Rugby World Cup in Japan next year.

According to French publication, Minute Sports Rugby, the 26-year-old could earn in excess of €1 million (about R17 million) a year at Toulon.

Meanwhile, other internationals in Argentina back-row Facundo Isa and Frenchman Anthony Belleau have extended their contracts until 2022 with the club.

Etzebeth will join fellow South Africans Marcel van der Merwe, Juandré Kruger, Jacques Potgieter and JP Pietersen."

The fact is the Toulon this year was not really doing as well as they should and none of their SA players are really top class at present,    There most important contract I believe is more Nene Milner-Skudder than Etzebeth.

Anyway I am sorry for Mozart - he would not be able to watch his hero play regularly,   However I may be wrong - he does not see players playing in matches to see how they perform - since in his case performance is not required if the players have a good reputation.

Etzebeth is not the only potential Stormers loss.   There is a rumour that Malherbe has also been offered a huge French contract - but his father is not in good health and he is hesitant to accept same and prefer to be near his family.

A real loss will be Du Toit - but he is not likely to leave yet - his family is very wealthy and he is set to go farming rather than going to Europe - is that really a safe bet at present ?

Mozart

ESPN+ is not available in SA.   If there is an article - please post.  The story apparently is that  Etzebeth will be paid R17 million as per his contract,   Toulon apparently also provides free accommodation and a free car as part of the contract,

Etzebeth will be 28 by the time the contract commences - a good start to his pension earnings for the future,   He got a two year contract only as against Milner-Skudder's three year contract - so Toulon - having been bitten badly in the past is taking out insurance against a potential flop.

In any event WP is technically bankrupt and more players are likely to leave.
