A French court on Wednesday fined former New Zealand international ace Ali Williams €1 500 for buying cocaine outside a Paris nightclub.

The 35-year-old former lock was arrested alongside Australian international James O'Connor in February and police sources said that the pair were clearly drunk when they detained them. (same old same old behavior from these down under yobs!)

The police took the rugby stars into custody and tested them for cocaine. Williams returned a negative result and O'Connor tested positive and was fined for using the drug.

Williams, who retired in 2015 after leaving the French side Toulon, made a brief comeback this season with Racing 92.

But the Parisians fired him following his arrest in possession of 2.4 grammes (0.08 ounces) of cocaine outside the night spot near the Champs Elysees.

Plain-clothes police officers said that Williams tried to get rid of the drug as they approached.(Kiwis are so often very dcitful. Who will ever forget Bryce Lawrence or Sean Fitpatrick a crook of monumental proportions!!)

O'Connor was suspended by his club Toulon after his arrest but returned to training with the Top 14 side in late March.

Arriving at court accompanied by his lawyer on Wednesday, the 6ft 7.5in (202 cm) New Zealander Williams was wearing a smart black suit and refused to comment to waiting reporters.

He and O'Connor now face a joint date to explain the incident to French Rugby authorities on April 12 where further action is expected.

Williams won the World Cup with New Zealand in 2011 and played for his country 77 times but has been stripped of his ambassadorial role and told he has no future at Racing by club president Jacky Lorenzetti, whose wine company Williams also worked for.

Lorenzetti and Williams had a close relationship and the Frenchman said he had been upset to have to sack him.

"His life has dramatically shifted. Ali had a boulevard, even a highway ahead of him. He could have done great things at the New Zealand federation or elsewhere," Lorenzetti said in mid-March.

The affair has gone down badly in New Zealand.(Oaks the nz hate anybody foolish enough to be CAUGHT!! )

Fairfax New Zealand sports columnist Kevin Norquay called Williams's conduct unacceptable for a former All Black, particularly one who once led the team's fabled haka war dance.(This fake outrage is a real hoot!  Lead the fabled haka. bwahahahhaha you can't make this stuff up!!! Hilarious!!)

"Ali Williams has hauled the proud black name through the white powder dirt," he wrote.

"He's not just a silly boy with money having a bit of a lark outside a Paris nightclub.

"He's Ali Williams, All Black lock, 77 Test caps, World Cup winner in 2011. Wearer of the Silver Fern, dispenser of the haka.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

So the repetitive tale of very poor behaviour of nz rugby players continues. Somehow the nutter here thinks Williams has somehow tarnished the lily white nz rugby name. Bwahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha - you have to love these delusional kiwis!

Beeno as always setting the record straight and giving the necessary context and explanation to nz fake news spin.

Expect more spin from their supporters - especially JW who has a reputation like a spinning top!

I am sure all the oaks will agree - an hilarious article.

Quite a big fine in SAFFA money. I hope they have learned a lesson. There are worse things in life than experimenting with coke...very dangerous all the same.

Lest us not forget that Oconner originates from New Zealand...He tested positive- in subsequent drug tests. Apparently the cocaine can hide steroids in ones system ....

Oaks when one thinks soberly about this very unsavory incident it is clear that wee Ali was nothing more than a drug MULE. Poor James was corrupted by his bad influence.Clearly Ali's malevolent plan was to get poor James intoxicated and then hooked on cocaine.  Its a never ending sage when it comes to kiwi misdeeds.

O'Connor was born in Australia on the Gold Coast.[2] He lived in Auckland for five years as a child attending Rutherford Primary School. Until the age of eleven when he returned to Australia with his family.[3] He became a boarder at Nudgee College in Brisbane's northern suburbs.[4][5]

In 2006 he suffered a ruptured spleen,[6][7] but went on to be part of the Australian Schools representative team that played against England, Samoa and New Zealand in 2007.[8]

O'Connor's parents are from New Zealand, and his maternal grandparents from South Africa. This, along with his Australian birth, meant he was eligible for all three Tri Nations teams.[9] However, his decision to play for the Wallabies, and debut in 2008, meant he became ineligible to play for the All Blacks or Springboks.[10] He also played for the Australian Sevens in 2008.[8]

Face facts kbbs James has a very remote connection to SA when compared to NZ and Oz. James was corrupted by having parents from NZ and then having Ali the drug mule as a friend. How unfortunate for poor James!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
