These guys play like UCT used to play in the 60s.....miles behind, down and out, they run from everwhere. Rugby at it's most entertaining. On the more practical side it's odd that with Os to coach them , the Cheetahs can't scrum. Coenie is perhaps the most overrated scrummager in SA rugby....the Beast had him for breakfast.

Some  guys who have been counted out looked good. Sadie every bit as good as Jordaan. Bosman a massive presence in the last 10 minutes, saving the game with his tackle on Daniller. And Daniller himself, best SA fullback on display this weekend.

Pieter Steph du Toit looks to have put on some much needed muscle, the Beast was massive, van der Walt is a running talent.

Can't say I was too impressed by Coetzee who lost the ball twice in possesion. Mvovo showed up Rhule ....experience does matter.

But I suppose the big deal was the flyhalf battle, won by the ice cool Lambie. But unlike Jantjies Goosen wanted to play, to compete.....and his pace reeling in Ndungane was breathtaking. It's a great thing for SA rugby with 3 test calibre flyhalves in Lambie, Steyn and Goosen. It looks like we are gong to have our own Mehrtens/Spencer type choices to make.

Cheetahs were good but my team was better on the day.  Coetzee is not all that good but still better than a lot of SA loosies.  It is still early in the season and players will get better as they go on in the season sharpening their skills.

v/d Walt looks a good prospect. Great contest between Lambie and Goosen. Lambie edged the first half, Goosen shot ahead in the second.

Frans was great at 12, just what we want from a 12, mini breaks and the offload.

Steph du Toit was that size last year and made the same impression as he did in those 15 min he was on - great hand off

Coetzee had a damn good game as did the Bok props.

The Cheetahs cant compete scrumtime with no locks.

Great try by Sadie good to see him back.

Apart for Danillers fluke take at that kick off, he did nothing. Best SA fullbacks in week one were Taute and SP Marais of the Kings.

Saffex

Please note that Mozart in his relentless campaign against Coetzee said nothing about the try scored by Coetzee - by omtting it he can then nit pick on an issue that happened once in the game.   Thatis his normal procedure when he tries to discreit players.

Danillier is a case in point - he was involved in one good play and that is probably the fist time he did that in a year,   But Mozart will keep on about that like he did with the CC try of De Jongh. I agree with you about Taute - but I do believe that Mozart's denigration campaign will continue next week.

Sdie was wise to leave the Bulls.  Mozart;s great hero - Morne Steyn - destroys backline play and he had no opprotunties to perform in any fames he played in for the Bulls.

I have no problems with the performance of Francois Steyn - he is keeping up the improvements I mentioned previously.

De Villoers was average - did nothing to make mention of.

Yep, Coetzee was as good as ever. The kid just never stops, a young Schalk with better skills.

Daniller is poor player, had one good fluke moment and was at his best yesterday which would at best be described as solid. All the fullbacks were good - Kirchner, Taute, Daniller, Ludik and SP Marais. I was very impressed with SP, but sadly he looks a little light.

Yep Sadie scored a good try, the lad is a good player.

Jean did absolutely nothing. Frans was by far our best centre after round 1 - no contest
