You guys dont have good receivers under these kicks. You lost a lot of Faf kicks because you got bulliied in the air. So the question isif you dont have a big weapon in the air why do it at all?? You dont have a Folau so youll get beat every time. Your coach is basically a dumbass for always wanting shallow kicks.

Your natural game is counter attacking with you speed out wide. Its so obvious. Get the wide me out quickly.

Faffs kicks are not contestable, when other players did kicks, it worked out ok percentage wise.

Thats not true your other scrummies have even worse skills. Almost every kick was reachable by faf all your guys get under it but lose to the opposition every time. They arent good in the air. 

Faf is a great box kicker...When he is allowed the freedom to choose when to do it. 

Forcing him to play a specific kicking tactic negates too many of the positives he brings to the game. 

The main one being his reading of the game and playing what he sees in front of him.

Go and watch replays of Lions games. 

Not so much box kicking, but his chips into space and to corners kept the Lions rolling forward and scoring very often. 

Also remember that when the box kick is telegraphed and a clear strategy, it's accuracy has to be much higher than if it's used sporadically. Opposition just sit back and wait for it.

That's part of why I think relying on it so heavily is a silly idea.

Rassie might just not trust the backs. Whatever the reason, box kicks seem to be our gameplan.

He did some good kicks - but not box kicks. Some territorial touch finders, and also kicking into space were solid. 

Japan made a lot of obstructive running on Faffs up and under. This helped make them even less contestable. The one around the 60th minute was so blatant, surprised the referee did not see them.

However, I have had a good chance to see Faff's up and unders, and they are not good. If this is the game plan, rather play someone who can do box kicks.

Can only work with what you have but I think he doesnt choose the right game. Play off 10 rather than 9 and get your wings into play. For Bokkies scrummy is flyhalf. Sort that crap out.

I think they got away with it vs minnow japan but any team with counter attacking ability will make them pay.

What can the Bokkies do differently?? They dont have the guys to play better rugby. You can make some shifts to make it work better but thats it. Too late now shoulda built something better than this from the beginning.
