I think we do not always realize the value of the Team Selection Thread posted on this site n a weakly basis,   lets look at the facts pertaining to the competition thus far:-

*   The Ruckers Forum 1 Leage has 52 participants.   That includes known site members of this forum - as well as participants who for their own reasons joined the League or were allocated by Foxsport to the League

*    All our site members have full teams playing, while the other members frequently do not have such.   That applies to y of the top ten members even though the point allocations for Round 2 has not been finalized yet.   There may still be some adjustments - only three of those are not members of this website.

There are members who are helping to ensure that we have the teams at the earliest possible times - frequently even before the news media got the teams and publish same.   Many thanks to members who regularly help in team searches,   Keep up the good work.

Boy ... do I suck at this or what? Currently at 39th spot ... out of 54.

No matter. I will soldier on and see if I can learn something along the way.

I could have sworn Rory Arnold was selected to start for the Brumbies. I'm not sure what happened there.

I thumped my first opponent in the head to head. I shan't mention that he never bothered to select a full team. Wayda go, bro. Appreciate it.

It is very hard to get into the swing of things in the Fantasy competitions,   Player selection is often influenced by personal prejudice and  you must get used to it,   It is always good to see which players score well regularly and get them into your squad,

There is often hints about which players should be looked at - eg it happened in the case of Godwin and a few others,

Don't be disheartened \ I was at number 26 and moved up to no 8 in one round .   With the finalization of the points I may even be higher.

I was really happy about one element.   I joined the Kiwis in Aussie League where all the Aussie commentators make their selections.   I beat John Eales by a distance and am leading by over  200 points against my opponent in this round.

I am currently #23 in our  league. Should be a lot higher. I am just not getting some of my selections right. I was banking on my Canes players for maximixaiton in points. While they won 34-9. Did not reflect in Fantasy points. Fifita got -6 so yeah lol. I think I can get into the top 15. If some of my players pick up the slack and stop getting single digit numbers. And better captain choice. Here is my team points so far, of course prelimenary.

Tungasfasi 8

Kitshoff 30

M Marx 43

S Whitelock 14

S Lousi 17

A Savea 17

V Fifita -4

A Ioane 46

TJ Peranara 7

B Barrett (c) 24

R Ioane 32

R Janse Van Rensberg 45

I Folau 31

G Bridge 53

J Barrett 12

As you can see I banked on my Canes players. But individually they did not play that great, and it reflected in fantasy. So unfortunately atm. I am getting mostly over 40 per players. But if I want to elevate higher in our league. Need to improove those numbers. SO yeah selections are important..

I hope you note that the Chiefs is on a bye this week and the Canes next week. I think you must be careful with the Canes playing the Crusades this week after travelling virtually around the globe  and the Canes having a bye next week.

I hope you can survive those two rounds without being punished.

Wow ... that's an impressive climb up the ranks, Mike.

You guys seem to play instinctively.

Yes ... I will definitely see this season through to it's conclusion and then partake again next year. It's fun ... even though I suck at it currently.

I kinda forgot about the bye and found myself with 2 players in my team that DNP. Can kick myself for being so stupid.

Shan't do that again.

That is why I indicate the byes when posting the team selection thread/   I cannot get it right too - I always have players on the bench who outperform the selected players and pick the wrong captain.   ,

Thanks for that, Mike.

I'll be more attentive to what I do. Rushing through it is clearly not the way to go. It's even worse than JW and his computer selected team.

The final results for Round 2 is out.

The three changes I made provisionally iro Round 4 is as follows:-

*    Michael Hooper to replace Ardie Savea

*    Waisake Naholo to replace Damian McKenzie

*    Aaron Smith to replace Augustine Pulu

Not sure of Hooper though - but the Waratahs is playing the Jaguares this week.   However, C Wiese of the Stormers may be a better long term buy.

I have changed my mind - will also go for Wiese.   Remember before the comp started I warned members to watch out for Wiese.

Is Ben Smith going to play on Saturday?   I would rather have him than Naholo.

Yeah B Smith should be playing I had him initially but they had a bye. Prob bring him in then Naholo. He has great work rate. And should see the ball alot. FYI Landers Stormers game is this Friday night NZ time, not Saturday. Hurricanes Crusaders well be Saturday night. I Should know I well be at the game .

...3k from what i read Weise sat out training Monday due to a shoulder problem and maybe shifted to lock now anyway due to a lock shortage - no Shickerling, Du Toit or Etzabeth,...either way could affect his scoring potential especially after the Crusties softened the visitors up - so the Highlanders could run rampant this weekend...especially in the backs..

Yes he was a bit sore after the Saders game    If he plays in Friday he will be my first choice loosie.   I  think it is likely that they would pick Van Dyk at lock if Du Toit is not available.

Whomsoever play at lock would be too much for the Highlanders.    They have an excellent backline  but it may happen that the Stormers will shut their forwards out - like they dud the Crusaders for 75%  of the game.

Not sure the Highlanders will win - I think they will, but an upset is possible/      .

Not sure whether the injury is serious enough to keep Wiese out o f the game/

The guy is only 20 years old and nobody would like to see him being played when he is already injured  - it could have negative impacts later on in his career.

Another 20 year old had been called up as a lock - rumour has it that he is vey good.

Yea - I have only seen him once playing in the Under 21 CC final.   He is in the SA Under 20  squad preparing for the Under 20 WC in France.

Harry Dale

First of all welcome to the site.   Are you participating in the Rckersforum 1, 2 or 3 in the Foxsport Competition and if so what user name are you using.

Thanks for the injury report provided - make for very interested reading and will be helpful for members.    I suppose the report will be updated on a weekly basis
