It really is funny when you look at the fantasy Cup situation petaining to players involved against members of our league: I looked at performances of players we played against in the previous weeks and came up with the following:-
Oi-matey
In round 14 Oi-matey is up against OzXV and the situation is as follows:-
Oi-matey OzXV
Round 11 439 373
Round 12 439 513
Round 13 338 337
Round 14
Oi-matey is still in the Cup despite the fact that his selections in Round 13 showed a decline of 101 points compared to the previous week - whilst his opponent came down by a massive 171 points. So Oi-matey remains in the competition.
Sasue
Sasue was up against Scruffy Boys and the situation is as folloqws:-
Sasue Scruffy Boys
Round 11 487 421
Round 12 428 446
Round 13 290 329
Round 14
Even though Scruffy Boys came down by 117 points - the bigger come down of 138 points by Sasue resulted in his being out of the competition.
Rooinek
Rooinekk went out of th competition in round 12 - but it is intresting to see how his opponent fared subsequently:-
Rooinek IamNumber1
Round 11 388 478
Round 12 370 546
Round 13 343 466
Round 14
IamNumber1 came down by 80 points in Round 3 - but his opponent only managed 170 points. However, Rooinek came down by only 27 points - the smallest point come down of any of the four members invovled. IamNumber1 seems to be a verys trong contender and is going through to Round 14.
Myself
My own position is the same as the one of Rooinek
Myself wuaussies
Round 11 352 400
Round 12 459 485
Round 13 335 269
Round 14
Comparatively I came down by 124 points - but waussies came down by a massive 216 points. What is weird is that his opponent in Round 13 came down from 492 points to 261 points - a lower score by 231 points - so waussies goes through to the next round as well
I did the above as a fun exercise and what became apparent was that Round 12 produced a result of very high points being scored by most paticipants - whilst other than Rooinek the other participants showed a massive comedown in points. I think the main reason was the close results in an enexpectedly high number of games and the loss by fpor instance the Highlanders - whilst some of the top pointscorers were showing lss positive result, Anscombe not playing and Brier being injured early. Round 13 really was a weird weekend insofar as plyer selection was concerned and it would be interesting to see what happens in Round 14.
