Results updated

Disaster hit those players with Marx as captain - he left the field injured within the first few minutes.

I was right to get Goodhue into the mix at center - but should have replaced Laumape and not Ioane to bring in Goodhue into he starting line-up.  Big misake!!!

I have four players which are the same as Black Power still to play - but one of those - J-L du Preez is my captain.   Also have one more player than Black Power still to play and that is Lood de Jager.   So he cannot get to my points anymore. .

Updated.   I did not factor in  bench players where starters are not going to play/

I am mildly happy with my points  thus far.  Would have liked it more if M arx played as well.

Congrats Maaik, looks like you kicked some butt this round. Well done. How much points did Willemse earn you?

The figures above are just initial allocations  made during the match and the auditing must still be finalized.   I will answer your  Willemse question  once the figures have been finalized. u

Yeah Marx out was a bit of a disaster. But who knows how much points he would of scored againgst the canes anyway. With Canes dominating possesion and terriotory. So don't know. Made Naiyavarro captain. ONly got 70. Should of made Lam captain lol. 2 weeks in a row wrong capt choice but ah well. Well see when scores are finalized.

Marx makes a huge difference to the performance of the Lions as a team.   When he is on the field of play they perform better as a team and winning by  a mere 8 points could easily mean a loss by  8 points for the Hurricanes.  There is not a single Hurricanes forward or combination of forwards  he would not dominate,  Will have a huge problem with Marx replacement this coming week.   Will be forced to go for Akker van der Merwe - a hooker who can outrun the fastest  Highlanders backline players looks a good prospect,

I made  a mistake by bringing in McKenzie  - was hesitating between him and Folau and should have taken the latter rather than the former.   I should also not have benched Rieko Ioane - should rather have benched Laumape.   The latter is from a fantasy perspective a poor point score player.  Am going to replace him totally this coming round.

I am also hesitant about what to do next week with the Chiefs coming to SA.   They do not have a single player in their squad worth selecting, but may be forced to keep them.- since I will be forced to look at a replacement for  Willemse as well.   May go for Jean-Luc du Plessis,       .

Mike the loss of Marx was indeed a severe blow and what you said could well have some meat in it but to speculate on this one factor is meanlingless and folly to use as an excuse as this is the nature of the game...cannot blame losses on injuries...they happen all the time...it's part of the game...to compensate one must have a squad that allows for that. I know it's hard for Malcolm is a player worth 2 on the field and a rarity.

I am not blaming the loss of Marx as the only reason for the Lions loss.   However, from, a fantasy competition perspective he was a banker for most participants and his early replacement meant that all of us lost at least 50 points in the competition. - hence the relatively poor performance of most members this week.

I must also learn something in the process.   Stick to performing teams and do not forget about their players,   I said the Chiefs would lose in their game - yet selected McKenzie ahead of Folau.   I said the Crusaders and Sharks will win easily and did not follow my own "rule" in that regard.

The fact is That the Chiefs are coming to SA this coming week and I do not foresee them winning against the Stormers and the Sharks - matter of fact they are likely to be humiliated like was the case this week of the Highlanders.

We only have three trades a week and if two of those be Marx and Willemse - I will still be in trouble the coming weekend..   .

Not to worry - you can make a comeback as well.   I was in the thousands after week one - and moved up to be at no 303 this week,   Another three good weeks and you will move back to the top.   However, the final results of this Round could also affect your standing.more postvely than you think it will be,

ABF had two poor weeks as well and it seems that he will lose the Round 12 H-to-H against me.  The downfall normally is related to selection of the wrong players at captain.  ABF picked Naijarovoro a few rounds ago and this week Marx who did not really play at all.

I believe that the expected outcome of matches affect the candidacy of captains and some banker selections is a requirement since to be high up you need to average near to 700 points on average and to select players earning around 35 points average is not really the answer.    .   .

I am learning too slowly for my own liking.   The answer is simple - only pick players with an average performance above 40 points.   That means cut out quite a few favourites  like for instance Beauden Barrett and his celebrate brother and even players like Retallick.   They are very expensive and rarely score the required points to allow for top class points.

There is only one NZ flyhalf I would pick and that is Mo'unga - the rest I would not touch with a bargepole.

For me there are only two real center options Rieko Ioane and Goodhue.

As to outside backs  one should stay away from  the slow players like Nahowo, Naiyarovoro, and even Julian Savea.   I actually believe in a player like Lam and also favour Alaimalo and Bridge - but there are some SA players demanding some attention - eg Dyantyi and then there is Tuculet as well.

I do not like any of the SA loosies - bar Du Preez - and from that perspective the best loosies are in fact Mafi and Ioane/Savea, but anoher loosie that is very good is Labuschagne.   Would not touch any other NZ loosies with a bargepole/

As to Hookers - the only outstanding on in the comp is Marx - there is no real other alternative

Props - Kitshoff and who else?
