This was a rank disaster for all of us and for me it was the worst result this year thus far.  The highest score was below the 550 mark and whereas some of us regularly got more than 660 points the results were poor,

The reason was the poor performance of our bankers - especially Mafi and the Ioane brothers who normally get circa 150 to 200 points combined got 63 points in total.   The SA player bankers of most of us did very well - with Marx, Du Toit and Willems getting a combined total of 177 points. 

Unfortunately most of us got the captaincy wrong as well - the few who went for Marx got a well-deserved 168 points.  

I have once again learnt a few lessons myself - never ever select an NZ prop as a player and stay away from Crusders players as far as possible, with the only exception being Mataele.  Only one NZ lock makes he grade if playing against weak opposition and that is Retallick - the rest are plain and simple point losers.

I am going to stick with he Ioane brothers and Mafi - they are too good  to have two disasters in a row.  Unfoirtunately I have to replace Willemse - since he is going to the UK to play preparatory matches for the Under 20WC series and I am thinking of replacing him with Pollard.    

I usually don't go with Saders players. Obviousley as a collective top 3. But individually just dont sustain enough points for me efficiently. Ova then Matale this year of course. 

I am sticking with the Ioane Bros of course, gun players. Mafi too. Not sure if Weise is playing if he is starting him for Timu, who has a bye this week, Bringing  Kitshoff back in. Tupou has a bye. 

I did hav Marx as capt, but changed to Lam. Hahha. That happens. Aso got ova 100. So if no Luamape. Prob bringing him in. 

I will also look at Thomas du Toit as a prop this week - with he weak Highlanders Tight 5 he will have a ball this weekend.  

I have gone back to McKenzie as outside back - so the combination would be McKenzie, Alaimalo and Lam.

I am going to replace Willemse with Pollard in the flyhlf position.
